The game Batman: Gotham City Chronicles features a dramatic battle where two sides face off. One player takes on the role of the Villain and controls the most recognizable criminals of Gotham City. The remaining players take on the Heroes, who must work together as a team to thwart the Villain's plans.

Each game is played according to a scenario that describes the plot, the location of the action, the game setup, the number of rounds, and the specific objectives each side is trying to achieve to win the game.

The contest involves two opposing sides: the Heroes and the Villain. This dynamic is depicted by two separate boxes for each side, facilitating game setup. The Heroes' box contains their miniatures, Hero Bat-Tablets, Screens, Cards... everything the Heroes need to play a scenario. The Villain's box contains their miniatures, Tiles, dice, and everything necessary for preparing the upcoming battle. These 2 boxes constitute the core of the game and are essential for playing the Wayne Manor, Arkham Asylum, and Solo/Coop expansions.
