I bought this watch at the beginning of June, only 20€, excessively cheap for everything it offers and a good choice for beginner users or those coming from previous models. It has all the measurements one needs, app notifications, and call recognition (attention!! there is no possibility to answer). The only thing I would suggest is to buy a better strap than the one that comes with it because it doesn't hold up, unfortunately, it cost me the entire watch as it came undone and got lost in the sea.
Purchased on April 24th. With exactly 3 baths in the sea, it gave up. (just swimming and rinsing with fresh water afterwards) Supposed to be waterproof. I have a mi band 4 here for 4-5 years with countless hardships and endless swims in the sea and it hasn't worn out. It ended up in the trash, I didn't bother with service and such because I know the answer.
Decent for its price.
It is waterproof but either in the bathroom or at the sea it activates on its own and does whatever it wants.
The strap broke and it's not worth buying a new one with the price they are asking, so now I'm stuck with what remains.
A decent watch for basic functions. Permanently connected to the phone for notifications, daily use for alarms, and used 3-4 times a week for walking measurements through the app, the battery lasts me two weeks. The app it uses compared to the older mi band I had regarding the training aspect is inferior. Also, I haven't found a way to disconnect the watch from the app like the older one had.
Decent for its price. It has nothing to envy from watches of a higher category. Its measurements are almost excellent without major deviations from practicality. It has countless functions. The ones I highlighted are the oxygen measurement, the detailed sleep statistics, etc. It should be noted that you can see all of this directly from the watch, and the use of the app is not required. The battery lasts 5-7 days depending on the functions you have activated. The only negative I can comment on is its screen. Its quality is not the best available; however, I recommend it without reservation. For its price, you won't find anything better; it's a one-way street.
Value for money, good features, stylish, relatively long battery life. Good charging time, not super fast. What disappointed me is the fact that very quickly, the clasp of the strap broke. This has happened to me with three of the same. Obviously, there is some material failure at this point.
tragic battery. With the advertisement that was playing, I thought I was doing something wrong, but no, it just has a bad battery. In the sense that I was used to charging the older models once a week and this one needs charging every two to three days, without even intense use.
You can't organize the activities you do in order; you have to search in its own list every time, and when you stop running or walking, it doesn't stop, but the time keeps running.
I would say it's indifferent; it does its job moderately and that's it. For its price, okay
The last Xiaomi watch I bought before this one was the Xiaomi Band 5. It's nothing like that one in a bad way, though... I noticed a lot of things after a week of using the Band 8 Active and started to believe that this particular watch I got had a problem until I read the other reviews... The battery is terrible compared to the other Xiaomi bands I have tried. The device specifications say that the battery lasts 14 days (just like it always did with the other Xiaomi bands), which, however, does not apply at all to this specific model. It lasts at best 5 days without even using the sports programs; I use this watch only to check the time and nothing more, and yet it lasts at most 5 days, which I consider unacceptable when the Xiaomi Band 5 that came out 3-4 years ago still lasts 14 days... Since I mentioned the sports programs, I should note that the Xiaomi Band 8 Active falls short quite a bit in this regard... It has far fewer functions compared to the Xiaomi Band 5 I had, which says a lot since the 5 is quite older. Also, I should mention something that has happened to me many times so far with the Band 8 Active... For some reason, many times while I am standing, it gives a message to get up and stretch, which proves that its measurements are not reliable since it doesn't even realize that you are standing and not sitting... In summary, my impressions are that this device did not excite me much since it is much worse compared to older Xiaomi bands I have used. If you want a watch just to use various sports programs, then the Band 8 Active is definitely not the right choice for you... On the other hand, if you don't care about that and just want a watch to use only to check the time or count steps, then it's just fine.
No comparison to the previous band 5 I had. Much worse. It requires a different app that has nothing to do with the band 5. It has more exercises but does not allow any customization to see the ones you use. It is larger and seems to have a better strap. Let's hope it lasts. If it detects that you are active, it starts but does not stop. This results in the fact that if you are not careful, you can be exercising and sleeping at the same time... The band 5 would stop... I wouldn't buy it even for 20€ which is what I paid for it...
I got it for my father. The battery is a complete disappointment... it lasts 3 days while the previous model from the same company lasted almost a month
Having bought most of the Mi Bands that have come out, I have to say the following.
First and foremost: THIS IS NOT a Mi Band!!
Xiaomi's marketing is such that they aim to confuse you about what you are getting and make you climb financial ladders as you search for which one to choose/buy.
- It is very cheap.
- It is definitely a watch.
- It is Smart.
But if you have used a Mi Band, you immediately understand that some things are not what you would want.
- The screen is not AMOLED and okay, we won't explode over that.
- Notifications often don't come at all.
- It has a "Find my phone" feature that almost never works with the reasoning "Can't connect to phone" or something like that, which does not happen with the Mi Bands.
- It doesn't have the simple flashlight function that turns the screen white to light up somewhere when it's dark.
- You have to download another app. Not the usual one from Xiaomi.
The only reason it gets 4 stars is because of its price. Just know that you are getting the worst they could make that is purchasable.
I bought it to help me with running, to know the distance, my running pace, etc., but in the end, I was not satisfied because during some of my training sessions, I noticed that it had stopped recording. From such an incident, I suspected that it does not make accurate measurements, so I tried another watch that was much more expensive and Garmin, which besides showing a completely different running pace, even had a deviation of about 300 meters in distance. The strap is also not good, so it's not suitable for wearing all the time.
I've had it for about a year but I haven't used it for more than a month. Overall, it is very good if you want it for simple use, but when it comes to sports activities, it falls short in many areas. Before this, I had the Mi Band 6 and I chose to use it again since this one doesn't meet my needs. For running and walking, which I wanted it for, it doesn't have options for kilometer or pace notifications. You can only set a metronome. It also doesn't have the option for PAI measurement that the Mi bands have. Overall good, although other models from the same company for the same price have more options. I also had to change the app on my phone to use it, without being able to transfer the data from the old app which is from the same company
Purchased two weeks ago, comfortable, lightweight, very clear screen BUT..........
The much-promised battery life of 14 days
WITH NOTHING in the very good case of five days.
Keep in mind all measurements are turned off
I only use call notifications and alarm.
And with the usage I give it, for call notifications, out of 10 calls, it doesn't notify me for 7
Fortunately, I only paid 20 euros for it, otherwise, I would have been stuck
As described and expected. It does its job just fine. I mainly use it as a pedometer and for sleep tracking. The battery lasts for days. The strap is all good, I haven't had any of the issues that have been mentioned. The only thing I would point out is that the "manual" is nothing, but it's easy to figure things out if you're not technophobic.
I got it as a gift for my mother.
It is very beautiful with a large screen.
It measures heart rate, oxygen, stress, steps, sleep duration and many more.
The battery has a long autonomy.
Wonderful!
Everything is good but the battery is unacceptable, before I had the 5 I would forget to charge it!!!
Also, the screen doesn't lock and it changes without you wanting it to, and the Bluetooth doesn't turn off
Great value for the price. I didn’t expect it to have so many different functions and options. Couldn’t find swimming as trainings option so I use freestyle. It counts time and pulse rate but doesn’t add it to my overall daily activity. That’s funny but doesn’t bother me. The battery lasts 2 days instead of 2 weeks as the description says. All together it works well for me
Quite good for its price, although I don't have experience with other watches of this kind. Its strap is comfortable and its measurements seem accurate.
I bought it for my son (8 years old). The strap is slightly big for him. He fastens it on the last hole.
Other than that:
- It's fine.
- It meets my requirements, which means a lightweight watch that doesn't bother you and where you can see notifications that come to your phone beyond telling the time.
Very good for its price. The only issue is its strap, which is indeed a bit problematic, it doesn't fasten very well. Other than that, I am satisfied, value for money, really, for 20 euros.
While I was fully satisfied, I wore it for 3 weeks in a row, everything was perfect, I only took it off to take a bath, suddenly one day I take it off and I see a strong redness around my wrist! The skin had become very rough and dry. I don't know how this was caused, I suspect it was due to the poor quality of the strap. I took a week to recover from the "burn" and since then I haven't worn it again. Maybe in the end you get what you pay for?
The only very negative thing for me is the strap, in a week of doing work in the garden, it came undone 3 times from my hand with the risk of being lost (also there is no way to detect it if you lose it). Apart from that, it is definitely very good for its price.
End of VFM. Screen with sufficient space but without excess on the wrist and therefore without disturbing in any activity.
Its brightness is good, but in very bright environments, it becomes difficult.
I was influenced by the good reviews. I don't have many requirements but this one faded from the first week and the battery doesn't last more than four or five days. No variety in screen themes and the letters are very small when a message comes... I am looking for another one of the same category.
This watch does what it promises! You can receive calls from your mobile on the watch and either mute them or reject them, but you can't answer them. This is a small and reasonable - I think - drawback. Indeed, I am also afraid that the strap might break, so I pay a little more attention to it, but it doesn't bother me while sleeping. For its size, resolution, battery life, and capabilities, I believe it is definitely worth the money, especially for those looking for something economical. I would easily buy it again!
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Active is very good, the only thing I wanted it to have is the ability to sync with phones and respond to messages from the watch, but overall it's great
It does what it says well. However, it does not have any strap for replacement. So if it breaks, do you throw it away? Or do you buy a new one? At the price of 30 that I bought it, it is not worth it. I would not buy this particular one again
