It will protect against overvoltage, not undervoltage. Usually, when there is an issue with the power distribution network, there is overvoltage and then undervoltage until it stabilizes. Electrical motors, such as mixers, refrigerators, air conditioners, etc., are easily damaged by the motors.

Also, devices with circuit boards like televisions, laptops, desktop computers, game consoles, etc., are easily damaged by overvoltage.

It is not a UPS, it is not a power stabilizer.

For its price, it offers sufficient protection for what it really is.

When it burns out while protecting your device (the indicator light does not turn on), it is replaced with a new one, otherwise, it simply functions as an On-Off switch.

I bought the switch/adapter about 6 months ago after repeated disappointments from similar adapters in the past (e.g. the mediocre SAS 100-15-017, in 3 of which the switch broke and didn't cut off the power, while it never cut off the power in power-hungry devices)! Let's talk about the adapter we're interested in: It is relatively bulky (when used at the edge of a power strip, it takes up part of the space of the adjacent socket - not even a discussion about placing two of them next to each other in a power strip!). It really cuts off the power in devices like a toaster (about 1,500W) without any problem and without heating up. So far, its switch (used on average once every two days for 6 months on a toaster) works normally without getting stuck! I believe that since it works so well with power-hungry devices, it will be a very good solution for laptops, external hard drives, and other low-power electronic devices (scanners, printers, etc.). I give it 4 stars because I'm not sure how long the switch will last - when I see how things go, I will come back!
Update (from 5/7/2017 to 17/12/2017) - I use such a switch on an electric heater (1000W): absolutely no problem, everything is going well, so I add the last star!
