After two months of use, they haven't added any new watch faces. Also, there is no application in the play store to download watch faces made by third parties. There are many applications with very good ratings for band 7, 6, and 5, but none for the 8. I don't know why this is happening.
The positives are more or less known: good battery, all notifications come through, many functions, highly customizable, you can set an alarm from the band, etc. However, I want to highlight some things that bother me.
1. When you set a countdown, you can't change the screen and go to, for example, the home screen, the weather, etc. Unless you have the always-on feature and see the screen always on. When you set a timer, you can go to another screen and it runs in the background normally.
2. The strap slips on the wrist. There are other materials that "stick" to the wrist and don't constantly slide under the wrist.
3. In the watch faces, I didn't find a single one that displays the date as day/month. They are all month/day. Also, in the application, there are no selection filters, for example, with 24-hour or 12-hour display, with weather, with date, etc. You have to search for them one by one. And there are relatively few, especially if I compare it to the amazfit bip that I had for 5 years. I had installed another application and it had literally hundreds of watch faces.
4. When I turn my wrist to turn on the screen, it doesn't always light up. I have to make a big movement of my hand for it to turn on.
5. When a notification comes, it doesn't stay in the notifications for long. After a short time, if I go to the notifications, I see that they have all been deleted.
6. The always-on screen is not very bright. It is not visible at all outside in the sun. Although the brightness is automatically adjusted, the always-on screen does not reach the brightness levels of the regular screen.
The changes from the 7 are minimal and certainly not substantial. The automatic brightness adjustment is quite delayed and sometimes the notification disappears before the screen becomes bright enough. The elements (fonts) of the notifications have decreased in size and you cannot change this. They have removed the language change option from the preferences, so it will automatically take the language of the mobile regardless of what the user sets in the initial installation! It refuses to synchronize with Zepp Life and you must use the Mi Fitness app, which is VERY bad (it does not allow synchronization of the company's own scale(!), requires precise location for weather updates, has many synchronization problems, and you cannot see screen details to choose appearance. Prefer the 7.
I got it in white and black as a gift!
I have been using it daily for over 6 months. It gives accurate measurements on the heart rate monitor, but the oxygen measurement is lower during the day as the sensor relies on light and contrast. At night, both measurements are accurate. I also track the sleep stages, where I find the measurements to be correct.
I got this watch 8 months ago now. Initially, the watch is very good for some simple daily things. It does exactly what you want it to do, nothing less, nothing more. It tells you the time, tracks calories, sleep, and heart rate. It has a quite convenient alarm function through vibration if you want to wake up and not disturb those around you.
It is a simple watch, and the things it does, it really does excellently.
However, it also has some negatives, such as the weather notifications that come even if you disable the weather on both the watch and the phone (yes, it's true), the calls where you can only decline the call and not answer it on the phone, which I specifically find annoying while driving. Aside from that, my only other complaint has to do with durability, not of the watch itself (as it hasn't been damaged even through falls and hits) but the strap, which broke a month ago and I had to buy another one (even though they are relatively cheap, I would have preferred not to have to).
So it is very good for the simple and daily comfort it offers.
This is the third band from the series that I buy starting from the model six, very good for what it is and the price is just a little, only that the white strap has already taken on a bit of color from daily use in less than two months, otherwise it is fantastic
Very good, with accurate measurements of sleep, steps, heart rate, etc. But with simple use, without exposing it much to water (I didn't shower with the watch, I didn't use it in the sea, I only washed it in fresh water occasionally to clean it without chemicals and sometimes it might have gotten wet when I washed my hands) and without having hit it anywhere, the touch stopped working suddenly, even though it hasn't been a year since I got it. The watch, if I accidentally turn off Bluetooth on my phone, does not connect easily; I have to restart the device necessarily, and it takes a lot of time, relative inaccuracy in the measurements, and the battery does not last as long as it guarantees!

The measurements it takes are many, without knowing how accurate they are. Its battery is also very good, needing a charge approximately every 5 days with heavy use.
BUT
The mi Fit, which is the app that the device "talks" to, is unacceptable. Countless bugs and synchronization problems. Also, the app gives you the ability to sync your data with Google Fit and Strava. Which simply does not work - In Google Fit it does not sync anything beyond sleep and in Strava while it transfers the activity, the measurements it provides are completely out of reality. The Mi Fit ruins the entire user experience of the band.

It lacks reliability. Unfortunately, mine turns off by itself randomly every few days while I'm sitting and without the battery being low. It vibrates and shuts down, just like that. It only turns on when connected to charging, even if it is already charged. I have never experienced anything like this with previous mi bands. After searching the internet, I read that alternatively it needs to be put in the freezer to work again, if that's possible.

The watch is very good and reliable as far as its measurements go. You might ask why I gave it 4 stars if it's so perfect? Well, for starters, it doesn't allow you to change the order of the date on the watch face, resulting in the month always appearing first and then the day, while on the Mi Band 7 you had the option to change it in the settings. Also, this is a minor detail, but the Zeep Life app doesn't work with the 8 and only the Mi Fit app is required, which I don't like. I know these are details, but it's good to mention them.

pros: it seems relatively accurate in measuring steps. Previously, I had a Fitbit, and when I moved my arms, even while sitting, it counted steps. The app is minimal and easy to use. The adjustable interface of the device is very convenient. The battery life is excellent. It really lasts from 10-14 days.
cons: when I got it, I couldn't use it for 3 days because Xiaomi's servers were down, and I couldn't register to activate the device! Not a good start.
The clasp on the strap is a weak spot. Many times it doesn't clasp well.

Owner of mi band 2, 4, 6, 8 for 2 people, myself and my wife! I bought the mi band 8 in January and with the first swim in the sea in June, it stopped working! I returned it to the store where I bought it and they did not accept the exchange (I don't know if it was the store or Xiaomi that rejected the exchange)!
