Description

St. John's Wort (Hypericum Perforatum) has been renowned since antiquity for its valuable therapeutic properties and wide range of applications.

Indications:

  • Sciatica, lumbago, rheumatic pains, joint pains.
  • Muscle disorders, ligament disorders, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sprains.
  • Cramps, stiffness, chills, neuralgia.
  • Inflammations, glandular and other swellings, dropsy.
  • Headaches, migraines, earaches.
  • For all kinds of wounds.
  • Injuries, bruises, contusions.
  • Skin conditions, herpes, rashes, ulcers.
  • Dermatitis, dry skin, itching.
  • Burns, diaper rash (infant or elderly).
  • Insect bites.
  • Ulcer, colitis, painful digestion, gastroesophageal reflux, acidity, heartburn, stomach and intestinal pains, constipation.

Usage Instructions:

  • External Use

We apply or lightly rub the affected area. We can also apply local compresses with a soaked gauze and wrap it with a waterproof membrane. According to Maria Treben, St. John's wort oil is also soothing for babies suffering from colic if we gently rub their belly with it.

  • Internal Use

We drink 1 tablespoon on an empty stomach (preferably in the morning or evening) and whenever a problem arises.

  • Cosmetic Use

Apply well to the skin with gentle movements. You can use it periodically like a night cream, applying it to clean skin and including the eye area. If you have sunbathed more than you should and your skin feels tight or has reddened, the evening therapeutic application with St. John's wort oil is ideal for immediate relief. It can be enriched with essential oils. It is also used as a base oil for masks and for the preparation of rejuvenating cosmetic creams.
