It is a unique plant that creates a beautiful contrast with its dark green, narrow leaves. It is suitable as a mid-ground plant but can also be used as a background plant in small aquariums.

Its leaves are clearly narrower compared to other Vallisneria species and do not grow as tall. In its natural environment in northern Australia, it reaches a height of just 15 centimeters, but in the aquarium, it usually grows to 30 - 50 cm, which relates to the different conditions in light and nutrients.

It easily produces runners that will quickly create a dense vegetation under good conditions.
