How to use a pen:

• Hold the pen like a regular pen. To write, simply dip the tip of the pen into the ink reservoir and wipe off any excess ink in the container.
• The best ink flow is achieved when the tip is at an angle of about 45° to the paper.
• Depending on the choice of tip, how it appears on paper and the pressure you apply will vary.
• The width of the line changes depending on the pressure you apply, and also changes when using a fine pen attachment.

Be careful not to press the tip upward against the paper while writing, as there is a chance it may catch on the paper or tear it.

Caring for the pen:

• To protect the pen from rust, avoid letting pens stick to each other.
• Before the first use, it is advisable to pass the tip of the pen over a flame with quick and sharp movements, or you can use alcohol and wipe it well.
• After use, remove the tip from the pen holder and clean the ink from the tip either with water or alcohol.
• This helps prevent drying of the calligraphy inks.
• If ink falls on the pen holder's ring, you can dip it in alcohol or water to clean it and then wipe it very well.

Be careful, after cleaning the pen, wipe the pen holder and the tip thoroughly to prevent rust.
