  • Type of envelope: Classic series
  • Height (cm): 55
  • Sowing season: Autumn

It requires general-purpose indoor potting soil with good drainage. It likes a cool, sunny environment to thrive. Each bulb should be planted at a depth of about 8-10 centimeters, with the tip of the bulb facing up and at distances of 10-20 centimeters apart.

  • TIP: We prefer clay pots that breathe better than plastic ones.
  • TIP: For better drainage, we add a layer of pumice stone at the bottom of the pot.

During planting, water once a week. Ensure the pot has holes for proper drainage. Once the bulb starts to develop, water more frequently depending on the area's temperatures.

Fertilizing method: It is recommended to fertilize with water-soluble fertilizers suitable for flowering plants.

Diseases and pests: It is vulnerable to fungal diseases and aphids due to poor ventilation and high temperatures.

TIP: All parts of the plant can cause serious discomfort if ingested. It is advisable to use gloves during agricultural tasks.

Bulb storage: Remove the bulbs from the pots, let them dehydrate, and store them in a cool, dark place until the next autumn planting.

History of the black tulip: It is rumored that the tulip originates from Central Asia and spread to many parts of Europe. It was first cultivated in the Netherlands in 1593 by Carolus Clusius. The tulip is a symbol of true love and unparalleled beauty.
