The objective of the game is to be the player who accumulates the highest score from the value of the words you have created. Words must be read either from left to right or from top to bottom, and your word must use a letter tile that is already on the board. Each player plays using their letters and the board areas with special squares that best utilize the letter points.

I grew up from my 11th in 1991 with the original version back then when the intellectual rights and the construction of all the good board games were owned by Milton Bradley games, a Hasbro company. It is clearly a legendary, high-quality and timeless board game, but not ideal for small elementary classes or dyslexic children. In these cases, prefer the junior version. I also have the rare travel edition with a magnetic board and Greek letters that stick as magnets on the board. It is an educational game and for me, it is highly nostalgic. If you have grown up with it, introduce it to your children because they will love it and have fun while learning new words and proper spelling.

Unacceptable for a company like MATTEL, the largest toy company in the world, to not have thought of offering the Greek version of the board with magnetic letters (I have seen it in English) so that they don't move and scatter. We are talking about a price difference of 10-20 euros for mass production (for the small market of Greece, otherwise it's just 5 euros more for materials), but it would make the game much more useful, especially considering that it is a tabletop game that lasts a lifetime, so you shouldn't skimp on the quality of construction. It also doesn't have expansions with new themes, like other versions (including the electronic one). At least on Skroutz, I haven't seen the Deluxe version, which is made of high-quality materials (wooden polished letters, rotating magnetic board, a case that closes like a backgammon board). What is available in Greece is cheap. Cardboard and plastic. Completely Chinese. No comparison to the American version, which I would recommend to parents who want their children to learn to write proper English by solving crosswords like Scrabble.

When I was little, I had the same one but I remember that the positions on the board were slightly elevated and the letters stayed where you put them. Now they have made it cheaper in terms of construction and more expensive.
