I have had it for 9 years with a lot of use in the 4 ... very good in the frequencies it has, its built-in antenna is not the best, basic for all bands meaning it picks up all signals but for the nearby ones, in many cases it requires adjusting, a little movement of the scanner up/down/right/left to get it to work properly... with an external antenna (for the corresponding band) things change and it works very well, I have a simple external dipole that cost 5 euros and I have heard (from Corfu) an airplane from the Saronic to the Aegean, amateur from Volos and external, in the maritime band from Italy... quite good for the air band it has and the 8.33 spectrum that makes it up to date, so the purchase is worth it only for this band...
With the external dipole that is for FM/VHF, I have picked up signals even at 400+ MHz UHF.

The small speaker is powerful and the speech is relatively clear (depending on the signal if it's not too low/far away with interference), don't expect music quality (e.g. from FM).
There is a backlight (only for the screen) but it's only for temporary use if it's completely dark because it only stays on for 30 seconds, if you need it again, you have to press the light button.
In full frequency scanning, it's a bit slow compared to more expensive portable scanners of its kind from Uniden.

It also has FM (e.g. for a football match, a little music or breaking news, for example, when the events in Ukraine started, so you don't miss them... at least for me, FM is a plus) and it's also quite small, it fits in a large pocket, which makes it ideal to take it everywhere... however, maybe for this reason, it doesn't have a power connection, but the 3 AA regular (non-branded) alkaline batteries lasted me around 4-5 days of use, approximately 6-8 hours per day constantly searching for signals... although the manufacturer doesn't recommend it, I now use rechargeable batteries (Sony 1900 mAh approximately, they last the same) and I saved a lot of money on batteries...

I consider the bands of emergency 84-87 MHz and 149 MHz for freenet unnecessary because nothing comes out there anymore... if you only want a specific band from the ones it has, you can manage with this one, for the cheaper receivers, the ezi33xlt is a good choice... or even as a first scanner in general for experience with the analog signals of VHF
