In combination with Sony's 2.0x and 1.4x teleconverters, it increases the maximum focal length to 400 mm and 280 mm respectively. Additionally, the 2.0x teleconverter makes it possible to shoot true 1:1 macro at all focal lengths.

This innovative lens has a diameter of 82.2 mm and a length of 149.0 mm at the wide end of the zoom range and weighs 794 grams. The extending lens design was chosen to maximize portability.
