I use it to carry my tools to the boat, so I chose it to be waterproof. It has a rubber seal at the closure and it is indeed waterproof. It is not submersible to be submerged in water, although a small "dive" (for example, it fell at the edge of the sea) probably won't let water in. Overall, very satisfied.
