Did you find this review helpful?This specific basket from IMS is, perhaps, the best choice one can make to significantly improve espresso... compared to other commercial baskets, the holes are smaller (if I'm not mistaken 0.3μM) and shaped in such a way that extraction is done in the best manner. Simply, you need to keep in mind that you need to grind the coffee finer compared to the size you grind when using other commercial baskets. Keep in mind that it does not magnetize, in case you are using a dosing ring or some distribution tool with magnets. In any case, however, it is excellent because with the right grind, every time, you get a very good result.

The quality of the extraction has improved significantly compared to both the Delonghi baskets and the one that comes with the Joe Frex. You definitely need to have a good grinder and experiment quite a bit at the beginning to find the right setting for the grind, but the difference is truly worth it.

Compared to the one that came with the JoeFrex portafilter, this IMS one holds up to 18gr (+2gr) and allows for better extraction.
The only thing I have to note is that it slightly obstructs the tamper. It seems that maybe it is a few millimeters thicker at the rim. However, it is not a significant issue.
