Purchased 48" 04/2024. It has many good features (see image, ambilight) but unfortunately mine had a problem with the panel. More specifically, it doesn't "hear" the command to turn on from the remote control when it's in standby. Result in service?? Terrible customer service, ordered a whole panel from Poland and it takes 10 days, they didn't have a replacement TV and until Christmas we're looking at walls. Complaint email through the official site but they didn't even bother to reply to me.
Be very careful with after sales for whatever brand of TV you choose
Purchased for €826. The television is simply amazing. The ambilight gives you a whole new feeling while watching a movie. I will definitely follow up with the purchase of a home cinema because no TV speakers give you that feeling. It is also an Android TV, which means that with a wireless LOGITECH K400 keyboard, using its menu becomes much easier. The processor is very fast, which means it will also last over time. The panel is LG OLED and IT'S REALLY AMAZING! Since I come from older smart TVs, it takes some getting used to the menu, but it's not difficult. It's just a matter of my own habit.
I am going through the process of evaluating the product because I am excited about the pre-installed ambilight... It enhances the whole user experience. The panel is LG, with very nice blacks and high-quality construction... If you look at it from the side, from the middle and below, it has a thickness of 3-4 cm, and from the middle and above, it is only glass... (unbelievable design). The menu is perfect and quite easy. Do I need to find a negative point? Hmmm, the remote control could have been less flat and long, and it could have had a wheel (like LG)... I don't really care, but I had to mention it! Time will tell about its durability.
Purchased on Black Friday for €1400, the lowest current purchase price, surprisingly from Kotso. Certainly the most value for money OLED at this price level. Although the Philips 818 and not the 718 is theoretically the direct competitor to the LG C3, the very small differences between it and the 718 make the latter comparable to the C3 (as well as the G2, of course).
Excellent performance for both SD and HD content, and I believe it surpasses LG in terms of smoothness in fast-paced scenes.
In UHD content, the clarity is so high that it feels like you're watching 3D!
Excellent for gaming, clean Android operating system, generally user-friendly menu but some settings could be more easily accessible and not so "buried".
There are certainly brighter OLEDs, but I consider this more of a comparative advantage of the others rather than an inherent disadvantage of the 718.
Ambilight is a unique experience, purely a matter of taste, but I find it hard to believe that someone wouldn't like it.
A backlit remote control would be more convenient.
The two (out of the 4) HDMI ports with 4k120hz (one of which is eARC) are not a problem for me (I have it connected to the eARC output of an amplifier with 3 4k120hz inputs), but I don't think they are for anyone else other than extreme gamers.
The sound of the speakers is sufficient for a 12-15 sqm living room, but overall it is not top-notch. However, anyone who values quality sound should find an external audio source, regardless of the TV.
Overall, with the use so far, I consider it a better purchase than the G2, C3, and 818, as long as the price difference is not less than, let's say, €200.
Coming from the 2019 803 series and replacing it, the television is day and night, worse image (the panel has fewer pixels than the 803) blurry image like a 200 euro television. Cheaper construction, the 803 had an aluminum frame. And the main drawback is the bad sound compared to the 803, as it had a 2-1 speaker system while this one has 2-0. And both are 1000 euro televisions. Think about it.
