Review this product
  • I bought it a few days ago. For Xbox Series X. It is by far the best feeling pro controller out of the five I have, among the two Elite Series 2 white/red, TM eSwap S pro, Razer V3 tournament pro, and Nacon rev-X pro. Incredible build quality from hard PVC, metal, and glass for the OLED screen. What sets it apart from anything else in the high-budget pad market is that in the circularity test of the hall effect sticks, it had a deviation of just... 1%, while the Elite 2 out of the box has a 4 to 5% right from the start. The thumbsticks of the ROG Raikiri Pro are truly the best technologically and in feel compared to many controllers. The buttons are also very clicky, they are not membrane buttons underneath, they are tactile buttons, like pressing keys on a keyboard or mouse. You feel like you are holding an expensive controller in the end. The only thing that might be a bit challenging for you but you will manage eventually is to open the large 6 GB application for customizing the controller, Armoury Crate, on a non-ASUS PC, but with the help of ASUS Greece support, with their great kindness and willingness, they helped me over the phone and I was able to install the somewhat cumbersome Armoury Crate application on my 15-year-old DELL Optiplex 755 yesterday. Let me not forget to mention, for the Armoury Crate application to be installed, you need to have the latest version of Windows 10 / Windows Pro, ver. 22H2, or Windows 11, as well as RAM of 4GB and above. Even with the built-in profiles on the pad, you will not have a problem. I play with the default profile in BO6 and I am among the top scorers. It also connects easily to any device via Bluetooth Wi-Fi (it has a USB dongle placed in a compartment on the back of the controller) as well as with a USB Type-C wire to both PC and Xbox consoles. The ROG Raikiri Pro from ASUS is a real tool for pro gamers, but also a very fun and user-friendly controller for casual gamers. I highly recommend it, kudos to ASUS for making very high-quality gaming peripherals. GET IT WITH CLOSED EYES.

    Positives:
Comfortable, endless battery, fast charging, impeccable response.

    Negatives:
The back buttons only work as "macro," which means you have to record a sequence and then map it. (It could be easier)

To adjust the lighting, you need to connect it with the cable.

Asus has a dongle that connects keyboard-mouse together (Omni receiver), it could also control the controller.

I bought this particular controller mainly for its receiver, a 2.4 GHz tool that connects the controller directly to the computer, which I consider to be its biggest asset, since Microsoft controllers (Xbox), even the Elite Series 2, would disconnect when using Bluetooth. So I sought something more reliable regarding the wireless connection and ended up with the Asus Raikiri Pro.

Another positive I found is that it is smaller in size than Xbox controllers, allowing my fingers better access to the triggers, which, combined with their gradation, takes gaming and shooting to another level.

I can't overlook the positives regarding the battery, which is indeed good, but it could have been better.

That's it for the positives. However, I encountered some negatives that "bothered" me and I must point them out. First of all, when I did the unboxing, filled with excitement, I was abruptly brought down to reality because I found myself holding a "cheap plastic" controller worth €20!!!

Aside from that, the second thing that disappointed me is that the plastic of the curve where the left middle finger rests creaks annoyingly. It is likely a material defect. However, is it possible for such shoddiness to occur in something so expensive and branded? I'm just asking...

The third negative I noticed is that the menu and map buttons are so small that many times I have to take my eyes off the game and look at the controller because I simply can't find them by touch. Moreover, the buttons I mentioned earlier are starting to fade!!! Incredible yet true.

The last negative, in my opinion, is that the textured grip designed to prevent slipping is simply useless. Hands continue to slip when sweaty, and those who are into gaming know the consequences.

In closing, I would like to mention some additions that significantly raise the price and seem to be the pride of the company for this particular controller, but ultimately they are completely indifferent or even useless. I'm talking about its screen, which I never pay attention to while playing, and it doesn't provide any information that I couldn't find otherwise. For example, it shows me the low battery level, which I could see with a simple LED light. On the other hand, there's the RGB lighting. I’m not saying it doesn’t add a different tone, but to get to the point, it drastically reduces battery life. I simply turn it off and save battery. However, I ended up paying a lot for something ultimately useless.

Anyway, I choose to overlook the negatives and focus on the positives, enjoying the game with my new controller!

I neither recommend it nor dismiss it. It depends on what one is looking for.

So, from me, it’s a struggle for 3 stars.
