I didn't have luck with toasters, one broke after another. I ended up with the Braun even though I preferred one with two slots for toast, but in the end, the one large slot is convenient. The Braun initially seems of better quality than what I had purchased before, and from the movement of the lever to start toasting, the quality is evident. For now, it works like a clock. I also like that it can be placed on either side so that the controls are on the side that is convenient for me.
One year later: It works without problems, very sturdy. The only toaster I would recommend for quality construction.
