The Sedum burrito, also known as donkey tail, is characterized by its shorter, thicker, round leaves and "tails." The stems that emerge from the crown of the plant are densely covered with juicy, gray-green leaves, which overlap like the coarse hair on a donkey's tail. The leaves are less prone to breaking from the stem.

In the summer, the buds at the tips turn pink and begin to bloom. The plants grow as medium-sized cascading clusters with densely grouped stems that easily spill over the edge of a hanging basket.

Leaves:

• Short, elliptical to scaly or round along the back stems.
• Juicy, soft, gray-green covered with a bluish-green bloom.
• They may take on a pink-purple hue in full sunlight or in a dry environment, especially during the cooler winter months.
• In different conditions, the leaves remain gray-green.

The size of sunlight exposure affects how much the leaves will redden.
