It helped out finding which cables where which amongst a bundle of 20 cables. At first you have to get used to it because it beeps even cables that are not the one you are looking for. So in the beginning you think you doing it but you did not. You have to differentiate from the loudest beep to the weakest beep. Always black cable on mass and the positive on the wire you want to search for. That sounds a bit confusing because when you have a 3 wire cable, you want to find the entire cable not the individual wires perse. This makes more sense on automotive wiring where you always have a mass and looking for wires not cables. All by all, it does the job.

Good for its money. It worked well for 3 years. Now it can no longer transmit the signal from the crocodile clips. 4/5 because I have worked with better, even though they are Chinese.

As a field technician, this particular tool is excellent for its price. It is important for the battery to be fully charged, as it does not hit hard with a low battery, but if you know how to work with it, it can handle everything.

Compared to others, including the most expensive devices, it works exceptionally well.

Wasted money for nothing...
In a security panel with 70 cables falling, I was looking for a specific one and ended up installing a buzzer and cutting the cables until I found the right one. The other teams were laughing at me for how poorly it works.
I hope I got a defective device. I will definitely go for a unit now.

I have been using it for several years. If you know how to work with it, it is very good. It has a great signal and also shows short circuits. The comments below stating that it did not show them the correct cable is because the cable was short-circuited with the other one that was hitting it. It is worth its money.

For its price, finding both vertical and horizontal is just what you need, as long as you know how to use it correctly.

A simple and useful tool for amateurs and professionals. It does its job very well. If the detector is not audible or hits all the wires, it is not the detector's fault but the wiring

I bought it to see which cable goes where, and while it shows me a cable, when I give power, I realize that it shows me the wrong cable. Cheap but useless and a waste of the little money I spent.
