The new SHAD SH33 is a compact and practical top case, with capacity for gloves and a full face helmet. It closes with a simple motion and offers a wide range of additional interchangeable color covers as well as a backrest pad for the passenger.
It features an improved ergonomic handle. With a reinforced mechanism for easy assembly of the case and base. With the new SHAD sticker replacing the older oval sticker. Includes the D1B29PAR mounting base.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
It has some creaks as if it resonates at certain RPMs, that's where you feel it vibrating.. otherwise it's just fine.
It has taken in a lot of water but has never leaked.
(If the sun sees the plastics for a long time, they might yellow.)
2 stars. It lasted about 3 years. In the last week, the thin plastic that holds the lid upright when you open the suitcase broke. Also, after a strong jolt with an empty suitcase, the plastic that holds the suitcase to the base broke, causing it to fall onto the road while in motion; fortunately, I didn't have anyone behind me... In the end, I managed to tie it up just enough to get home.
A simple suitcase to do your everyday job. It's nothing special. The only negative thing I can attribute to it is the noise it makes when passing through rough asphalt. It's incredibly annoying and unbearable. Now, as for the rain, I can't give an opinion because it has never been tested in water.
I have had the suitcase since 2012.
It has not leaked a drop of water in heavy rain, nor has it shown any signs of struggling even though I often exceed the manufacturer's weight limit of 3 kilograms.
Once the lock got a little stuck, but with a little spray it became like new.
After many abrupt openings that I have done for years on a daily basis, the plastic hinge that connects the top and bottom parts broke. I have left it like that, and I still don't have any problem. Only the capacity is not enough for me. Otherwise, I recommend it due to its price.
It is incredibly fake and not worth even its money. I believe it should cost around 10€ at most 15€ and not more. Its lock broke very easily and cannot be easily repaired. Choose something else. It is worse than the cheapest Chinese products of this type. Its plastics are very soft and break very easily. Its base moves easily because it cannot easily tighten on the motorcycle or scooter rack. Completely fake.
2017: I bought it as something better than some simple Chinese ones that have thin walls, leak water, and the lock doesn't catch right away, etc. I liked the shape, the quality of the plastics, and especially the lock, it's a monolock so you just remove the lid, turn the key, and lock it.
I didn't like the white plastic crystals, but what could I do?
The base is nice, I placed it on the rack and attached the suitcase, but from the first ride I noticed a noise as if the two pieces were resonating, especially with a jet helmet, it was very annoying. It didn't make any noise at idle, but when I accelerated, I heard a "crshhhhh" sound from the back that irritated me, and I cursed the moment I didn't spend an extra 15-20 euros to buy a Givi, for example.
I put a layer of tape on the lower part of the lip so that it fits tighter with the upper part, and the noise was greatly reduced, but I can still hear something like resonance from the lower part of the lock (the one you press to remove the suitcase) which I don't see how I can fix.
I have seen on another rider's case that the white plastic crystals become very dull (yellow) over time due to the sun, which is an ugly sight, and I'm thinking that mine will also become like that.
It hasn't been exposed to water, although it has been parked on the road during several rains.
If it happened, I wouldn't buy it again because of the resonance and the white plastics I mentioned earlier. I regret not spending a little more, even though in terms of shell quality and locking mechanism, it is far better than some simple Chinese ones!
2019: It doesn't leak water or mud, etc., no problems with the lock, the crystals are starting to turn yellow, and the resonance noise remains.
2021: I still have it, what was said for 2019 is true, plus I have added 2 extra screws and it is permanent.
Update 2020! It is quite good for the money it costs. No issues in the 5 years I have had it on my motorcycle. Economical, with a relatively satisfactory space, and hard plastic material. No problems so far! It has not even taken in water from the rain! Also, with a little extra money, you can install a backrest, which is very useful for the passenger. It is perfect for small scooters and mopeds! However, it lost one star because the lock broke easily when I fell, but someone can replace it relatively inexpensively so as not to buy a new trunk again.
Terrible black, I have used the SH 33 twice on my scooter and with the first rain it has turned into an aquarium far away!!!!!!
Very good for its price
When it costs 70€, you expect fewer creaks and better locking on the retention rack
