Additionally, there are the SEER and SCOP indicators, which more realistically depict the actual energy efficiency of air conditioners.

  • SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is representative for the entire cooling season. It is defined as the ratio of the annual required cooling to the annual electricity consumption (the annual cooling consumption is based on 350 hours of operation). Indicatively, for an air conditioner of class A and above, the SEER indicator is from 5.10w/w units and above.
  • SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) is representative for the entire heating season. It is defined as the ratio of the annual required heating to the annual electricity consumption (the annual heating consumption is based on 1400 hours of operation). Indicatively, for an air conditioner of class A and above, the SCOP indicator is from 3.40w/w units and above.

It is silent and incredibly efficient in heating. Set to 20 degrees heating and you forget it exists. Lightweight outdoor unit.

This review is about the cooling power: 18000 BTU

It is very good and powerful even when operating in night mode. Personally, I usually run it this way and the house is warm without being suffocating. For those who have their own control, I recommend buying another Daikin control, specifically the ARC470A1. Automatically from 3 levels it ensures 6 levels, thus increasing the intensity options. I got it and really solved the problem for those moments when you would want something between low and medium intensity.

This review is about the cooling power: 9000 BTU

Unacceptable, I have had it for 6 months, 2 of which I needed it, it works when it wants to, the damage was detected on December 20th (code), repaired on January 16th with a change of the external board, worked fine until March 15th, now it does the same thing, doesn't turn on at all. The board costs 350€ and is still under warranty. I will ask to return it and give me my money back to buy from another company

    ***UPDATE September 2023***

I come back with new information.

Well, after the end of summer and the heatwaves, I have to say that this is indeed a reliable and excellent machine.

I work from home and used it daily throughout July and August, all day long (9:00 am - 2:00 am), for a total of 17 hours non-stop.

The house, without air conditioning, is hot with temperatures reaching up to 31°C.
I have it set consistently at 27-28°C in silent mode.
From the room thermostat, I understand that it faithfully executes whatever I tell it.
When I set it at 27, the house stays consistently at 27 to 27.5°C all day long.
On days with intense heat, I set it at 28, so the thermostat shows 28 to 28.5°C.
Accurate perception of room temperature, constant maintenance of temperature throughout the day, without fluctuations, without making you cold, with just half a degree of deviation.

    How does it work?
If we assume that we set it at 27 and the room thermostat reaches 27, then it continues to blow cold air for a while until it "locks" the temperature in the room. Then the inverter is activated, doing its magic and maintaining a stable room temperature by adjusting the temperature of the outgoing air (alternating between cold and lukewarm).

As strange as it may sound to some, 27-28 degrees in the house create the perfect atmosphere without making you cold or hot while wearing summer clothes.

It doesn't dry out the atmosphere, you simply enjoy sitting in your house even if it's 42 degrees outside!!! No vibrations, silent, absolutely no issues.

And what I noticed is that during midday with high external temperatures, it gave its maximum performance. In the evenings, when the temperature outside is lower and therefore the need for cooling is lower, the air conditioner automatically reduces its performance, resulting in a half-degree increase in room temperature so that you don't feel cold. We're talking about the perfect climate inside the house.

Now let's talk about energy consumption...
In June, with moderate use, it consumed 25 kilowatt-hours.
In July, with the usage I described above, it consumed 102 kilowatt-hours (approximately €14 on the electricity bill).
In August, it was the same as July.
A total of about €30 for the perfect climate in your house throughout the summer.

It is the cheapest model from DAIKIN and costs €1,200 including installation.
With a market research, you will see that the most expensive models from other companies cost €2,500 and €3,000. So, I wonder what the DAIKIN models at that price will offer????

I bow down to the quality.

    ***END OF UPDATE September 2023***

It is a simple and elegant air conditioner from Daikin.

It has basic functions of cooling and heating.
It doesn't have anything special in terms of features like special filters, ionization, etc.

I installed it this year in May for cooling during the summer months in a well-insulated 45 sqm space.

It was installed by an official Daikin representative, so I was able to extend the warranty to 5 years through Daikin's Stand by me program.

So far, the machine seems very powerful and I only use it for cooling.
The space cools down very quickly.

Once it reaches the desired temperature, it goes into maintenance mode, so it continues to blow lukewarm (not frozen) air.

You can also use it as a simple fan.

    It has 4 speed levels.
The quietness in which the noise level is low and you can easily sleep with it.
The first, second, and third level.

It also has a turbo function, in which it operates at the maximum level for 20 minutes to quickly cool the room, and then returns to its normal setting.

It has a grille that can automatically move up and down or stay fixed at the desired position.

It has a sleep mode, in which the temperature automatically changes after one hour of operation. For example, if you set it to 26C for cooling, activate the sleep mode, and go to sleep, it will automatically increase to 27C after one hour to prevent freezing. Conversely, in heating mode, it will decrease by one degree to prevent overheating.

And of course, it has an automatic timer for automatic activation and deactivation at a specific time.

The indications on the unit are basic. A power light and a timer. That's it.

It is very elegant and compact in size!
The quality of the materials seems very good.
There is no sound of vibration and it responds immediately to the commands you give it.

The remote control is very elegant and high-quality.
It does not have a backlit screen and gives you access to all functions.

The outdoor unit also appears to be of high quality.
And because details make the difference, you will notice in the photos that the design of the outdoor unit is such that it does not allow the pipes and cables to be visible.

In terms of energy consumption, from a glance at my electricity meter, I noticed that it doesn't consume much! I did not observe any significant increase in kilowatt-hours, and I use it daily for 1-2 hours.

In conclusion, you will get a simple air conditioner.
But it does its job very well!
