Description

Meredith O'Donovan, a young Irish woman, lives with her six-year-old son Ian in Courtown, a small town in Ireland. His father abandoned them as soon as the child was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder. The little boy constantly creates problems with his behavior, sometimes pushing his mother to her limits.

Until one day he starts reacting almost paranoically.

He frantically draws strange pictures, repeats unknown words, and mentions places and names that she herself does not know, asking to be taken to his mother. The only one who seems to take his words seriously is her sister Shirley, who is a teacher. Everything her nephew mentions seems to be related to the Greek island of Crete. But how is it possible for a six-year-old child who doesn't even know how to read to know so many details about places and names on this Greek island? The little boy's behavior is so bizarre that it raises huge questions; so much so that the two women decide to visit the island. With only the drawings, words, and names as clues, they are led to a village in Lasithi, Anatoli, where half a century ago a tragic event occurred, with a strange disappearance that devastated families and marked the village. And Ian seems to be connected to this event…

    Very nice plot.
A little big in size, but it is a classic book by Dimoulidou.
It doesn't get tiring as much as I thought but due to its size, you have to remember names!

Although I'm not a fan of reading, as I easily get bored if there is no progress and excitement, I really liked this one and found myself counting the hours to finish my work so I could pick it up and see what happens next. Impressive! I would highly recommend it, especially now that summer vacations are approaching. I would advise you, before starting it, to grab a pen and paper and write down the names of the characters and some details about who they are, as it will help you later because you might get confused since there are several characters in the beginning with English names that we Greeks are not familiar with. Only at the beginning of this book, then the Greeks will come with their Greek names and bring the excitement along.
