After years of using organic insect repellents, which were the only option due to having a baby, I finally bought autumn family care now that they have grown up. The organic ones with calendula, citronella, etc., the bracelets and keychain speakers do absolutely nothing, Crilen lotion is the only organic one that does the job, as long as it is not from last year, and you apply it to every part of the child and refresh it after a few hours!
Autan is chemical, I wouldn't use it on a baby, but now that they have grown up we use it, it is more effective in the sense that if you miss a spot, mosquitoes won't come near, and you only have to apply it once in the afternoon and you are protected until morning.
Someone said that the spray doesn't work after a few days, but that's not true. All sprays of this type only work in an upright position, if you have the bottle upside down it won't work, and the last thing you pay attention to when you are being bitten by 10 mosquitoes and rushing to spray yourself is whether you are holding the bottle correctly or not. So, if you turn it sideways or upside down, the tube gets air and you think it's broken.
The scent is nice, it doesn't bother or trigger nasal allergies like some organic ones. However, it is a bit strong.
The Family Care doesn't stick at all on my skin, unlike the classic autumn in the yellow packaging. It also doesn't cause dryness. But this has to do with the skin.
I can't say it wasn't effective, but it smells very strongly of something that I didn't like at all, and it sticks when you apply it. After it dries, you have a feeling of dryness on your skin (I have normal to dry skin). The packaging is very poor, it doesn't spray well, and after a few days, the spraying system completely broke.
