Dutch butter cookies or crackers, or more accurately cheese gougères (sometimes we need to create new words, as the very thin layer of dough resembles more of a wafer) are the perfect salty accompaniment to all kinds of drinks. From beer, wine, whisky, and whatever else you can think of, you choose the flavor (pepper, sesame, pesto, cheese, etc.) to complete the enjoyment of your drink with a thin, flavorful, and perfectly fitting product. Naturally, they are also used as a base for canapés, instead of bread, or simply as a quick snack when you get a craving.
