Modern people are deeply concerned with issues of self-awareness, serenity, balance, and love. What does the Orthodox hesychastic tradition say about all these? Through the talks of the holy bishop, who listened to the innermost thoughts of thousands of souls in his flock, we receive the answers that lived faith in Christ provides.

Saint Gabriel, Bishop of Imereti in Georgia, lived in the 19th century. He was educated, initially married with many children, ordained, but his wife and all his children died. Then he received a blessing and became a monk, later becoming the abbot of the monastery and appointed as bishop. Charitable and without possessions, he toured his region and gave talks to simple and uneducated people, up to 4 talks a day, from village to village, listening to their concerns and needs.
