I just got it yesterday, owner of redmi 12 c 4gb ram 128 rom. It is of course inferior in features to the previous one I had, poco x3 nfc, but for the 122 euros I paid, it is a very decent phone. For now, the only negative is the low screen resolution, but you get what you pay for and I'm already used to it. Although it is not suitable for games, it had 4-5 pre-installed ones which I removed as soon as I opened the phone, since I never play games. The battery lasts for several hours with the screen on. I highly recommend it for someone who wants a phone for everyday use without spending too much money. Don't waste your money on materialistic things, times are tough. If I see something negative, I will come back. The photos were taken as soon as I opened the box.

I am not a demanding user and therefore I always buy budget smartphones. This particular one is the only purchase I regret. Almost every day it requires backup and restore. It freezes and behaves as if controlled remotely by someone else (in other words, it opens applications on its own and has even sent messages by itself). "Experts" claim that the problem arises due to incompatibility with "western" digital platforms. Regular screen freezes, requiring screen deactivation - reactivation or even restart. I often hear my interlocutor, but they cannot hear me. I have to hang up and redial. A serious problem in pressure situations due to emergencies. In combination with the poor signal quality of my company in the area where I reside, the situation sometimes becomes nightmarish. It has nothing to do with a flaw in this phone that I hold in my hands. I had bought 2 at the same time, one for my spouse. Exactly the same problems.
It is strongly not recommended for professionals. Better with the ....... magnetic phone of the Army.

I bought this device for my mother, it has nothing to do with the previous model she had from the same company. The Xiaomi Redmi 9 (€150) was worth the money and more, a very good value for money device. It is much better to choose this model over spending the same amount of money on a Samsung device. In this budget range, around €150, if you are choosing between Samsung and Xiaomi, choose Xiaomi. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the specific device, the Xiaomi Redmi 12C, because it is a disaster. Maybe it could be an ideal choice for older people, but this particular device does not even meet the basic and obvious requirements. The Xiaomi software is a mess and it shows why many people avoid devices from this company. It has excessive bloatware, the typical unjustifiably loaded Xiaomi software that will make your life difficult. I was expecting that with this budget, I may not have high expectations for things like a good camera, video, or exceptional sound, but at least I should be able to play videos from my gallery without being forced into the device's strange paths that even the company itself does not know why it does it. You try to play a simple video from your gallery and you can't. What could be simpler to ask for? Again, I didn't have crazy expectations for this budget, but I relied on the ease and simplicity that this device could have for its price, for very basic functions for someone who is not into social media and photography but is also not unfamiliar with technology and wants to be able to record and watch their own videos in their gallery undisturbed. Even this is not possible. First of all, when I was setting up this device for my mother and configuring it with her personal accounts, etc., I saw and experienced it. I couldn't find where everything was, it literally exhausted me, and I'm a 20-year-old girl who is fully familiar with technology. Now imagine this for someone who is older and wants something simple and easy with all the necessary functions of a budget smartphone. It is not possible to want to play a video from your gallery and be taken to a completely different playback environment to watch it, which looks very much like TikTok. Why would a company do this? Why should I be forced to consume foreign content, irrelevant information, and unrelated people every time I want to watch something personal in my gallery? It's like being forced to watch random videos. It's a big flaw. Its software is very bad. It forces you to go down paths that you could avoid. If I wanted to watch irrelevant videos from random people, I would download TikTok. I don't want that. I want to watch my own videos. Just for this reason alone, even for someone older who doesn't have high expectations, I don't think it's worth buying. Go for something better. I don't know if all devices from this company operate with this philosophy, but if they do, run away. It's like it's taking control of your own device, you don't have freedom in using your device. Even to open a pdf file, it takes you wherever it wants. I won't even mention other weaknesses like low speed and overall performance, it freezes randomly and overall it's a very bad device but even these would be acceptable if it wasn't for this terrible software. Even if the phone was on fire, I would still tell you not to waste your money on it.
If you don't want to switch companies, maybe spend a little more money and find a better model because there are definitely better options out there. Also, if you don't want to go over budget, maybe invest in a better option like a One Plus or something similar in the 150-200€ range.Forgive me for the lengthy review, but if I can prevent even one person from wasting 115€ on this thing, I am willing to do it.

As a former Redmi 8 owner, I am trying to be objective in my review but I am struggling to find positives. Apart from the faster speed, larger screen, and NFC (which rarely doesn't respond), there are issues with the camera and sometimes with connectivity. It definitely surpasses the 8 in that aspect. However, the worst part is its battery. The rest I could overlook. After 6 months, it needs to be charged every day as it drops to half capacity. Emergency solutions I apply are disabling location from the menu and activating battery saving mode, which interrupts incoming message notifications. Considering how quickly its battery declined, I suspect it was pre-set that way. The next mobile phone will have a 10,000mAh battery.
