I have been using this specific hard drive for about 5 years as my primary disk with Windows and many games initially. And then, because I recently got a larger one, I used it as a secondary disk for backup for a while.
It is a very reliable, quiet, and quite fast disk due to its SATA 3 connection. It is also very well-maintained and visually appealing. I bought it many years ago during the period when there was a major disaster in the factories in Taiwan (if I'm not mistaken). At that time, the prices of higher capacity hard drives (HDD) were unreasonable due to the significant damage suffered by the factories that manufactured them.
So, even though I wanted to get a 2TB hard drive, I had to settle for this 500GB one due to the unreasonable prices.
In the end, I removed the disk from my system not because it had any issues or damage. But because it had become old and its capacity was no longer sufficient for me. Additionally, I had filled it up completely when I removed it from my desktop computer.
In general, I must admit that ever since I had my own desktop computer, I always preferred Seagate hard drives, mainly due to their incredible reliability. So, in my current computer, I have been using a Seagate Barracuda 2TB as my primary disk for some time now.
However, I believe that Western Digital HDDs are also very good and reliable many times. As well as Hitachi's. The specific hard drive, which this review is about, is very reliable and sturdy.
However, the price for a 500GB disk is just outrageous, considering that it is expected to meet the needs of a few users in today's era. When with around 50 euros, you can buy a brand new (excellent based on reviews) Seagate hard drive with double the capacity. That is, 1TB.
Precisely because of its exorbitant price, I will not give it 5 stars in my review as I initially intended. Even though it deserves it as a machine in terms of quality.
Pros:
• Beautiful design
• High reliability
• Quiet
• Quite fast for an HDD
Cons:
• Outrageous price for its capacity
