I bought it after a lot of thought because I saw several comments about disconnections and wifi coverage. After 1 month of use.
- There have been no disconnections.
- With 5G, it reaches better speeds than the mobile. I upgraded my line from 100Mbps to 400Mbps download and 100Mbps upload. We are talking about Cosmote always, Vodafone is terrible in 5G.
- At first, there were some delays/freezes that were resolved by removing the extra authentication that the APN has.
- The wifi coverage in a 110 sq.m. house used to require power extenders. With the new one, I have placed it exactly at one end of the house and it reaches great wifi to the other end of the house, so here too I had a significant upgrade and removed the power extenders.
I bought it with the condition to replace my 50vdsl fixed line with 5G.
As for the speed, in Vrilissia area, on different days the lowest speed I have measured is download 85Mbps & upload 1.98Mbps and the maximum speed is download 410Mbps & upload 4.80Mbps.
Unfortunately, due to its instability (very unstable wifi with constant interruptions), it is not suitable at all for working from home or streaming movies and series from platforms. When it freezes, it needs to be restarted.
In combination with the use of deco for covering the entire house, I managed to solve the internet issue. I use it on ups, it doesn't disconnect, except for one time in the beginning when it updated and I needed to restart it to unblock, which you can choose not to happen automatically if you want.
Until a few days ago, it was catching the normal speeds (500-600) that our area has. Since then, it only catches up to 100-150, while at the same time in the same spot, with a measurement from my phone, the speeds I receive are 500. I tried connecting to a specific cell tower through the settings, just like my phone, I tried all the towers in my area from cellmapper, but unfortunately, the speeds remain at the same levels and are extremely low compared to the expected and predicted ones. Obviously, the router has suffered some damage and seems not to catch 5G speed. In the photos I attach, the measurement with the phone via data and the measurement from the phone with the router's wifi are shown, from the same spot with the measurements following one another. Unfortunately, I also learn from friends that others have had similar problems to mine. Perhaps we fell into a problematic batch. As long as it worked for about a year, it worked flawlessly without disconnections and interruptions, nor reduced speeds. Fortunately, however, from Skroutz, they took over the entire return - inspection and ultimately replacement process, and now I am in the process of waiting for the delivery of the second one as a replacement. I hope the issues have been resolved and that we won't have returns and replacements again, etc
Pretty good product. I am waiting for an upgrade from Cosmote to support 5G SA! That's why many phones show better speed than the router. It also works as a landline phone as long as you activate WIFICALL before inserting the SIM card.
It has been placed on a balcony with a frog sim card (cosmote).
Excellent, we found the sweet spot and during peak hours I am at 450/60 and the rest 790/90. Of course, I mentioned the best and the worst speed test I have seen so far.
The UI is very easy, and if something challenged me, it was only finding the sweet spot to place it on the balcony.
I've been using it for a week, in a house where the mobile doesn't get a 5G signal, with this I have 5G and a speed of 150Mbps. I also tried it in another house where there is no 5G coverage, with the mobile I had 20Mbps and with this I had 40Mbps. Very stable, I have no desynchronizations at all.
If it had 6 stars, I would give them. When I installed it, I changed many spots in the house until I found the best one. I put in Cosmote and it caught the best up to 180mbps 5G, which was satisfactory for us since we had 55mbps and were paying €30. I switched to Nova because they had a plan with €25 unlimited, which was convenient for me. The photo says it all, I believe. At the same spot where I had it. You should let the card work on a 5G network on some mobile before inserting it because it doesn't switch to 5G by itself. The menu is relatively easy if you want to handle it and make changes, but generally, you won't need to. I haven't had any disconnections so far, so everything is good. It saved me with a poor connection in the countryside. I have also connected an extender via LAN port and I have around 450mbps at the bottom. Excellent purchase!
If you set it up well with special settings for both WiFi and the network, it works like a charm. I have it with Cosmote unlimited and it easily reaches 100 Mbps with 4 lines. At first, I had some disconnections, but after I configured it, none.
Having unlimited data from a provider, where the mobile in 5G (flagship model not mentioned) reached 180down/25up, this one reaches 250/34 (in a tourist area province). In the same spot, it performs much better than the mobile. The setup was immediate... I inserted the SIM card after removing the PIN (by putting it first in another mobile), and within 2 minutes I connected to the default wifi via NFC scan. The wifi 6 works great, good range, more range than a standard home router offered by Cosmote/Vodafone/Nova. You can receive/send SMS. It's a shame it doesn't have an API to exploit it for other things. You can also connect a conventional phone from the back to make calls. For two weeks now, with the TV playing YouTube/Netflix/Disney/Prime non-stop, 3 mobiles, and a laptop that requires quite good internet both in bandwidth and latency (due to work), I can say that I have found my peace... With max vdsl50 here, it was a dead end... I'm waiting for the tourists to leave so the network can clear up... The only "negative" is that the top part heats up slightly. It's good not to keep it closed in a cabinet, and to have it in a ventilated space. At 270€ that I bought it, I think it was the best choice.
I have had it since the end of March. When you have an adsl connection that reaches 8-9 down and 1up as soon as you plug it in and connect, you think you discovered the wheel. With unlimited cosmote and not a good signal 2 lines and -105-109 db the worst it has seen in speed is 120-150 mbps very rarely though. It has never disconnected on me and one time I unplugged it from the socket because it had frozen. One port is on a pc and the other on a switch that powers 2 tvs and 2 more pcs. In a 120 sqm house with an extender I have no problem with wi-fi. Make tests with a phone first to see how it connects and what speeds it reaches, they are pretty much the same before you buy it and disable the card pin. Is it worth the money? Yes, I would say for anyone with adsl. Would I buy it again? Definitely!!!
Minus one star for its WiFi... on mobile phones it gives much less with WiFi... while on the computer, which is connected with a cable, it's excellent!! No matter how much I searched the settings, nothing... you have to use a landline phone if you want to take advantage of a package from the company that you have the SIM card from!!!
Unfortunately, in my case, the 5G speeds achieved are far from what they should be.
In the same location with the same SIM card, I easily reach 500Mbps with my mobile phone, but with this router, I can barely reach 200Mbps.
I have moved it to every possible installation point, and unfortunately, I could never achieve anything better. I have placed it in a spot where the router's application says "Excellent Position," yet the speeds refuse to improve. In the same spot, my mobile phone sometimes reaches 600Mbps.
It's a shame. Reading the reviews, I expected a difference in performance, but not this dramatic.
Literally, I have to take it outside to reach speeds close to 400-500Mbps
I am very satisfied with the performance of the ZTE. I have noticed some minor instabilities with the Wi-fi, but they are not particularly bothersome as they are rare and small in size.
I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for a portable internet solution with high speeds. It has no comparison to 4G Routers.
Well, as a 5G receiver it is quite powerful (if you find the optimal spot in the house) and relatively stable. In 4 months, it has disconnected 4-5 times and took about half an hour to reconnect to the 5G. But the main issue is the WIFI. Yes, it is fast due to WIFI6, but it disconnects about 2 times every day. I have it as the main router and I work from home, so you can understand the frustration when it cuts off during work. But unfortunately, the 5G router is the only option because optical fiber has not reached my area yet. I get speeds of 220-230MBPS, which is admittedly very good. I will come back if they release an update and improve its stability. So far, 3 out of 5. I expected better with a €350 router.
Purchased as a second solution to an existing VDSL 30 (which is the maximum in my area) exclusively for downloads. You insert the 5G sim (without pin) and it works on its own (it may take some time to lock onto a specific antenna). I have no issues with the wifi, as mentioned in other comments.
The installation location plays a significant role. For example, there is a spot in my house where I get 20 and another spot where I get 500+. These are with NSA 5G antennas, as there are no SA 5G antennas in my city yet.
There is the option to use it exclusively on LTE+ as well as the ability to choose band(s).
It requires a considerable amount of time, testing, and knowledge to find the ideal position.
It gets stuck and when it gets stuck it shows that it is online but it doesn't have internet, so I have to unplug it. So, if I'm away from home and it gets stuck, I can't control anything that I have connected.
I received it yesterday, 2/9/23, and I am incredibly satisfied. With Cosmote unlimited, I consistently get over 150mbps in an area where my mobile (14 pro max) struggles to reach 130. It is fast, supports multiple devices, and the installation/setup is literally very easy! It has already paid off for me, and I highly recommend it. Thank you, ZTE.
Tested on Cosmote Unlimited, it captures a very good 5G signal inside the house (through 2 walls). Speed: D. ~500 - 700 and U. ~10 - 35. It is stable and the menu is simple. The WiFi coverage is not its strong point.
