Many times I wonder, if I were my teacher, what would I see in myself. Surely, I lacked confidence. Surely, I couldn't easily bond with other children - getting to know each other in class didn't have the significance we give it today. There wasn't the need that exists today. The need to recognize our emotions, our uniqueness, to accept each other, to talk about what we feel and to respect what others around us feel. In the past, all these things weren't even on the table or happened without much discussion. Or they didn't happen at all.
In recent years, the word empathy goes from mouth to mouth, without anyone daring to explain it. This guide is made to do just that. I don't say "written," because it is primarily lived, it consists of activities that were implemented with small and older children with the ultimate goal of getting to know themselves. I had the joy of seeing their eyes shine, wondering that a teacher cares about how they feel, laughing when I laughed with them or discussed or played, and all this with the purpose of helping them find the best version of themselves.
The activities are structured in the simplest way possible. With simple, practical, and everyday materials, with easy instructions, divided into three parts: the action as it could evolve-work in kindergarten or the lower grades of elementary school (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), how it could give an extra dose in the upper grades of elementary school (4th, 5th, and 6th) and how it could become part of a child's daily life at home.
Whether you are a teacher, parent, or caregiver, I invite you to live with the children these unique moments that each page describes. Getting to know ourselves cannot wait until we grow up, nor can we make an appointment for it to happen. It is a continuous search, a continuous game, an unstoppable way to discover our world.
And this book is a world. The world you can.
A world full of inspiration and ideas for experiential activities and games that can be implemented in the classroom or at home and help every child discover the best version of themselves. The most important lesson we can give a child is to NEVER stop believing in themselves! Activities with simple materials for preschool and early school age children, but also an extra DOSE for older children!

Personally, it didn't help me at all.. maybe it's for older children (not preschool age) and for smaller classes.. The suggested activities unfortunately do not correspond to the "material" that I work with.. I cannot objectively say if it is a helpful manual because I have a class with many difficulties, possibly under different conditions the examples of Mario would have been applicable..
