Quite convenient. I bought it for use with a curling wand where you have to hold the tuft on top of the iron, and I hardly feel any heat even when touching the iron that is at 200°C. With the two fingers that don't have fabric, it's quite easy to grab the tufts you want, it just requires a little attention not to touch the iron during use.
