The Globus Ami Life is a non-invasive neuro-muscular electrical stimulation (NMES) system that uses square waves, following the scientific guidelines available in the current scientific literature. • This waveform is suitable for treatments on the front part of the neck and face. This waveform is used for preventing atrophy and for restoring the muscular system involved in swallowing in the treatment of dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) of any etiology, except for mechanical causes that may require surgical intervention (e.g., obstructive masses).
• Some causes of dysphagia that can be intervened include: neurological and muscular pathologies, major cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, respiratory diseases with swallowing complications, iatrogenic pathologies, fibrosis/radiation stenosis, stroke, intubation or toxic injuries, head or neck trauma.
