I have had it for a week now. Note that as a technician, I change my mobile phone every six months to see the difference in specs between companies, to see models and manufacturing differences from one company to another. The battery is very impressive. It is equally amazing as the charging. It does not lag in terms of processing and has a very smooth flow in its apps. The only thing I would like is a little more volume in the open listening, even though it has a powerful speaker and Dolby Atmos. All the other features were expected and excellent. As a Xiaomi phone, it has its advertisements, but they can all be disabled through the settings. To get a good mobile phone, you need to spend over 260-270€, but there will always be something missing, either in the camera or in the storage or some other feature. This phone literally has it all. AnTuTu score 545K (it's amazing). The phone only needs a screen protector or another case if the factory one does not cover you, and GCam to enhance your photos. It has everything. The price is very good for what you get.
...Continuing 2.5 months after, the phone is flawless. I read the reviews. The signal is excellent on both SIM cards. All phones need adjustments, and it takes me a total of 2 consecutive days each time I change my phone to enter and select the correct settings, download apps, disable ads, go through all the settings one by one, etc. If the correct settings are made, the battery does not drop below 65%-70% daily with Wi-Fi on at 120Hz, with 5 social media apps open, etc. The only thing I don't have permanently on is Bluetooth for security reasons, but you can make it invisible if needed. Bluetooth does not work on one of the 7 devices it has connected to, but after some research, it is a compatibility issue. The screen never blacked out while I was reading (tip: try using a different browser/app to see if it happens). From what I read, you can disable the carousel and all the Xiaomi junk. It does not have LED notification... okay... and it does not have a radio. I can live without LED and radio. The only thing I would like is more volume in open listening, but I added a Bluetooth adapter/microphone in the car and now I speak through the stereo and also play my MP3s (cost 13€ on AliExpress). The phone is simply perfect, with amazing features, but your needs always play a role.
I'm sorry...I never actually left a review after using smartphones for about 20 years now. Huge fan of Redmi note series, with a 4 years life span with Redmi note 8 pro, decided to "lift the game up" and try the Poco X5 pro...
Well, 10 months later phone literally took fire...i mean it. Smoke came out from the phone while resting on my desk. Thank God I was not holding it when it happened. My teammates all suggested to call Xiaomi, use my guarantee and more...It's not worth it though. I'd rather just buy a new one.
Disappointed to say I'm not going to purchase any Xiaomi phone from now on.
I traditionally had the problem with the restarts and after one year, nothing, it says humidity, motherboard and it can't be fixed, what humidity? It's waterproof! A long-time fan of Redmi and I said to go for Poco but that was also its last one
After 1 year of use, I can say that I am very satisfied with its performance. It doesn't lag. Its memory is sufficient for me. Its camera is very good.
Bought it in April 2023 for 353€.
A good phone, but it could definitely be much cheaper. Personally, I wouldn't buy it again at this price for the following reasons:
1) While it has good speakers for music, it lacks volume for open listening, which makes conversations difficult.
2) Notifications: Countless times I have cleared notifications from the curtain and it keeps showing them to me again. I don't understand why I have to dismiss a notification 4-5 times for it to disappear.
3) Many times my call gets disconnected after one ring. I pick up a call, it rings once and then hangs up. It looks like I'm ignoring calls, and it's annoying when you have work to do.
4) Quite mediocre photo and video quality. You certainly don't expect the best quality like from flagship phones costing 1500€, but you don't expect this either.
On the positive side, I acknowledge that a year later:
1) It runs smoothly, no lag in browsing, etc.
2) It charges extremely fast (although the battery doesn't last as long as in the first semester, but I don't consider it a negative as I know there is wear and tear).
Based on the above, I wouldn't consider it value for money at 353€. It would be a good purchase at around 220€-250€.
The speakers are weak in volume and you can hardly hear conversations in noisy environments. The Redmi Note 12 purchased at the same time has much stronger sound. I would not buy it again.
For those experiencing issues with interruptions in video calls regardless of the application (viber/messenger) disable the setting for calls via WiFi and everything will be fixed!
The definition of value for money for a mobile phone! It really does it all and it's worth it. Fast, with immediate response, amazing screen, satisfactory battery, fast charging, powerful and clear speaker, satisfactory camera, good calls - signal! Amazing performance!!! What else can one ask for from a mobile phone at such a price...???? Reading many reviews, I hesitated a bit before buying it... But I really wonder about the negative reviews that in my opinion do not correspond at all to what the mobile phone offers.... Unless they got a defective product.... What can I say... Really hurry up to buy. It's worth it!!!!
It is a mobile phone for the category of the king, very fast. You can expand the memory for even better speed. I operate the phone fully in everything and the only negative is in games, where if you don't use game boost balanced, the battery will drop significantly. (game boost for performance battery saving). Fortunately, it has fast charging and within 20 minutes it has charged satisfactorily. I haven't noticed any other negatives in its functioning so far
Tragic quality in video calls via Messenger. Conversations and images constantly interrupt, causing gaps in transmission. The speakers cannot be heard. Tremendous disappointment, especially if you switch from iPhone to Android. I would not recommend it to those for whom communication is a priority.
In terms of hardware, it is a decent phone that meets everyday needs. However, the software of Xiaomi keeps getting worse. I have never seen such garbage forced upon me, and unfortunately, most of it cannot be easily uninstalled.
Excellent mobile, incredibly fast and easy to use. There are a few issues regarding the options it offers for notifications that I will have to adjust due to habit.
No comment. For the use that I bought it for and I have no special requirements, it is great for me and it covers me even though I would say that I made a surplus purchase... That's it...
At 230 that I bought it, it's a steal. I won't say it puts flagship phones and other graphics down. It's a very good phone up to 300. It does what it's supposed to do correctly and effortlessly.
I bought it for my daughter. She loved it for its speed, photos, and battery. I would definitely buy it again. The phone was slow to recognize the fingerprint. Excellent choice
Today (29/2/24), after less than a year of having the mobile phone, Xiaomi decided to do a software update and I found myself needing to format my phone. I lost everything (surely I also have responsibility for not backing up) and now I am sitting down and setting up my phone. Xiaomi better make brooms and fryers because they can't handle software!
I had the Poco X3 NFC and it was terrible... I replaced it with this one and it's the worst thing I've ever bought... The social apps crash at least once a week and can only be fixed by uninstalling... The battery lasts half a day without demanding use, the Bluetooth doesn't connect to the car, the photos are mediocre... Compared to the X3, it's like day and night... The only positive thing is that it's lighter...
The only problem that existed was that during calls, the mute was constantly activated and it was quite annoying. However, an upgrade has been made a month and a half ago that solved this issue. Otherwise, everything has been perfect so far after 3 months of ownership.
The device is generally good. However, the battery is disappointing. It doesn't last as long as the battery of the Redmi Note 9, even after two years of use. It struggles to run high-resolution videos smoothly during browsing. Compared to my previous device, which cost half the price two years ago, I'm not impressed.
If I don't consider the comparison, it is a powerful phone that rarely freezes, with the battery lasting a decent amount of time with regular phone usage, viber, emails, 2 SIM cards, and some social media browsing. It can easily last a day.
However, for this price, I would go for a different device.
EDIT 27/7/23: From the first day, the phone had 2 SIM cards. Suddenly, a week ago, SIM1 stopped being recognized, as if it doesn't exist. I tried switching the SIM cards, restarting, etc., but it never appears. I will update when/if I find a solution without having to send the phone for repair.
The mobile phone is very good for anyone who DOES NOT want to use Bluetooth. It's really the worst thing I've ever had on a mobile phone on this issue. I have a Samsung galaxy watch and while I never had a problem with any other phone of mine, with poco it disconnects every 5 seconds! Every 5 without exaggeration! And then to reconnect you have to do it manually from the clock application on the mobile. Tragic! However, it has a decent camera and good speaker.
I consider it a good purchase at the price of 369.
The battery is good, it lasts all day with enough activity, photos, emails, calls.
One downside I found is that when connected to Bluetooth, either on headphones or in the car, the sound volume is not high enough compared to the poco x3 pro that I had.
The mobile phone is the least for slaps!! After 3 weeks in my possession, it has restarted at least 40 times! It keeps freezing and restarting constantly, probably because it overheats as I was told by the store where I bought it.. really disappointing.
I have had this particular model for about a month now and I am almost completely satisfied. It has everything. I hesitated to switch from my Xiaomi Note 10 Pro 128GB because the battery was starting to wear me down. However, this Poco manages to produce quite good quality photos and videos. Of course, I still believe that the Note series is superior, but there is not a huge difference like before. Don't even think about it. You will enjoy it. For its price, it's amazing. Plus, the super-fast charging is a bonus, although in the long run it may cause the battery to deteriorate faster than usual, but let's not be greedy.
I come from Poco F3. I got the X5 Pro for a relative of mine.
Differences from mine.
Noticeably lighter. Very nice square chassis with nice back and curved screen edge that is super secure with the case. Very nice screen although I found it a click brighter compared to mine. Camera with nice features for photos and videos. Personally, I set it to 1080 and 60 hertz from 4K at 30 hertz for video. Very fast with 8GB RAM plus 3 from mom and maximum expansion of 5. There is a mom's protective glass ready. Battery in combination with a better processor than mine, although in the other performances my 870 breaks them. The mobile must have awesome capabilities for games, etc., only it will not be used for this purpose. It is as a second phone so I have no opinion on calls, signal, connectivity, etc.
The package does not include headphones which I believe would not be bad to have inside. It has a 3.5 jack so it is a plus compared to my adapter to connect it somewhere. The cameras do not have AI but it's a small drawback. It has something very basic though which is the dual stereo speaker with Dolby Atmos, only there are crackles when it's too loud.
Otherwise, it is a flagship killer mobile in its category and beyond. A formidable opponent with minimal differences and at the same price is the Redmi 12 Pro from the same company, where it seems to be the same phones.
It's very fast and doesn't lag at all so far.
In the game, Free Fire doesn't lag at all and runs smoothly when I play.
I wasn't satisfied with the selfies.
The Redmi Note 8 Pro takes better selfies.
It charges in 25 minutes and doesn't consume much battery during simple use. It drains quickly during gaming, which I didn't expect.
It's quite lightweight.
Owner of the mobile phone since the day it was released. I would say it's a pretty good phone for its price. I wish the battery would last longer since it's 5000 mAh, obviously it should have better performance (that's why I gave it 4 stars).
Overall, it's an all-purpose device that won't freeze or cause any problems. I don't know about gaming since I don't play at all. On the other hand, I would give the camera performance an 8/10, which makes it a pretty good device since it would have to be a flagship to get a 10.
Finally, I believe it's worth someone's purchase and attention.
