In nature, Bucephalandra typically grows on rocks or wood in rivers and streams. The Bucephalandra 'Wavy Green' is an easy, slow-growing plant that prefers lower light levels.

A pleasing, dense appearance is ensured by its willingness to branch out, even without trimming. The green leaves are 2 cm wide and 5 cm long with wavy edges. Small white spots will appear on the submerged leaves.

The stem should not be covered when planting, as this will cause the plant to rot and die.
