What can one say first about this beast from AMD.
Purchased in August 2024 for 400 euros, and so far it hasn't lagged anywhere. Easy to cool, doesn't need anything crazy. Combined with a 7800XT, and I play at 1440P.

The CPU is a beast, bought it for 329 before the price went up to 500+. It has been paired with a 7900xtx, it simply doesn't struggle anywhere now for the price it's being sold at this moment, just waiting for it to drop.

The processor is a BEAST. It doesn't need any overclocking or anything, I play everything on high/ultra and it doesn't even reach 65 degrees with a simple air cooler costing 50 euros. The ONLY downside is its price, it has gone up again and you can't find it for less than 600 euros. Don't get me started on the 9800x3d which is over 1000 euros in our country... Good luck guys finding a processor at a reasonable price.

The processor is not rumored to be the best for heavy gaming for no reason. Its price is crazy right now, but the demand is also crazy... Anyway, its pros are: 1) Bulletproof. It doesn't lag anywhere and makes everything look like a game. 2) It is a processor that doesn't consume much power despite its performance. There at AMD, they have done a really great job on optimization. I believe it is the sweet spot for a processor. The best processor, even if you find it used here on the site, just get it right away.

What's up with the price, guys? Last year I got the 5800x3d for 280 euros. I don't remember the 7800 being over 350...

This review is about the packaging: Tray

As much as you can get the 9800x3d because it costs 1000+ euros... here you will find the best processor for gaming that you might need. It is overkill even for 4090. You don't need anything more. Throw it a good water cooling and it will last you 7 years...

The king of gaming. With excellent consumption, moderate to OK thermals. I come from a 13700K and it really is night and day. A one-way street for 3D in gaming. The price is a bit steep but it's worth the money. Waiting for the 9800X3D though because if it has better thermals, I will prefer it.

Married with AORUS B650M Elite AX and 6000MTs30CL memories, it runs flawlessly.

Good processor but AMD has problems with the graphics drivers mainly. I don't know if they will show up with the processors as well. Anyway, I recommend AMD processor and Nvidia graphics card.

Since the announcement of the Ryzen 9000 and the rumors about the Intel 13th and 14th generation, its price has skyrocketed and continues to rise despite its age... what a shame. It has lost its VFM status. Someone who wants a processor NOW to last for years and not just for gaming can look at the i9 13900F (€386) or the i7 14700KF (€380), get a Z970 motherboard, do a BIOS update, and have peace of mind. Otherwise, they should wait...

The top processor for gaming, but in my opinion, at this price, spend an extra €30 and buy the 7900x3d. And to preempt you, yes, they have fixed the problem they had with the core parking of the v-cache.

    Note 26-9-24

It's tragic that due to the poor release of the 9000 series, the price of the 7800x3d has risen to €450-470. A month ago, you could find it for a maximum of €350. Unfortunately, this happens when there is no competition and AMD is playing ball on its own.

The best processor for gaming clearly, with an RX 6800XT that I have paired, it delivers incredibly high FPS at 1080p. In Forza Horizon 5 on extreme settings and of course with FSR 3.0, it easily ranged from 130 to 190 fps. I didn't have much time to test it, but compared to the workstation I have with Ryzen 9 5900X, the difference is chaotic in games.
EDIT 11/2024 As long as its price was at 360 euros, it was a no-brainer choice. Now at 500, it’s not worth it. For gaming, it’s a beast, but in rendering and workstation tasks, the 5900X wins hands down.

The processor, purchased at the end of June, is very fast (really very fast) and does not reach high temperatures. For example, in Ghost Recon: Break Point as well as in Wildlands, everything on ultra, the temperatures range from 63 to 75 degrees. In IDLE state, the average is at 53 degrees Celsius and all this during August with room temperature consistently above 32 degrees and many hours of gaming.
I believe you won't have trouble keeping it "cool," provided you have a relatively cool case as well.
The cooler I have installed is the DeepCool AK500S DIGITAL and it is more than sufficient.
A very good purchase but its price is somewhat steep.

Good price / quality. Not a lot of issue with heat on air cooling (paired it with a Noctua NH D12L.

One of the best for gaming, but for those looking at this price, in my opinion, add another 20 bucks and get the 7900x3d, identical performance, but more cores, more 3D Vcache, better overclocking ceilings.

Edit 11/12/2024.. don't even come close to these prices. Anything above €380 is price gouging.

One of the best choices on the market, if not the best.

Anyone considering a future-proof solution in CPU and can't wait for the 9800X3D and is mainly focused on gaming, then the 7800X3D is the only option.

Temperatures for summer with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm liquid cooling:
    Idle: 45°C
    Gaming: 63°C
    Stress Test: 75°C

Regarding RAM, ideally at 6000MHz either with CAS Latency 30 or 32.

For motherboards, I recommend at least B650, and of course comfortably in X670.

One of the most powerful CPUs on the market. Honestly, even the integrated GPU was enough to run various games at very good resolution and fps. I highly recommend it. With a good 240mm liquid cooling, it does not exceed 60-65 degrees (July month).

One of the best gaming CPUs on the market, it is a one-way street for anyone interested solely in gaming. Stock with settings for the memory to run at the advertised speeds, it achieves a score of 18500 in cinebench R23 and reaches 87c, in gaming it reaches up to 67c in the summer.

There are no words for this processor. Beast!!! Honestly, if AMD manages to maintain the clocks of the 9700x in the next 3D, there will be no competition from Intel. Even now, in multicore benchmarks, it is only 5% behind the 7700x. You can go for budget cooling and motherboard options without any issues, I personally put it in an Asus b650e-f for the PCIe 5.0 on the card (when that comes), and to be ready for an upgrade to a more power-hungry variant in the future on the AM5 platform. I would recommend undervolting to everyone, up to the point where your chip goes. Personally, I see 5.05GHz with curve optimizer-30 all core. 5 stars and 100% recommended for everyone.

Beast. In August, the Zen 5 generation is rumored to be coming out. Even so, for medium to heavy use, it is very powerful. Up to 2k, it's worth investing in the 7800x3d if you want it purely for gaming. Above 2k resolution, the 7600x does a commendable job without having big differences in FPS.

Ideal for gaming. It does not overheat after long hours of use or if you push it hard. After many years, it was the processor that forced me to switch to AMD. If you combine it with the Sapphire Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB GDDR6 Nitro+ graphics card, then you will enjoy games on your computer to the fullest.

From 5800X to 7800X3D with GPU 6950XT. Some games gained +20-40 fps, others almost none. However, ALL are smoother with better 1% lows. It is an incredible experience. At 340 that I bought it, it is very good value for money. At 400 that it currently plays, I would go for 7600 unless you have a very high-end PC.

I think it is the best for gaming. I have liquid cooling and I have never seen high temperatures in general. I play for many hours during the day due to a lot of free time. I built a new computer and I can say that it works well with everything. With the old system, I had issues with black screens, etc. that required a restart, but with this system, I haven't had any issues so far. Many windows open and nothing freezes.
