The watch is a beast. It is not suitable for small wrists. One of the largest G-Shocks. Resistant to falls. The main disadvantage is the unreadable negative screen both during the day and at night, as the light it has is very weak. Additionally, the screen has slightly fogged permanently.
Quite a big watch, not for everyone. I would give it 5 stars, the quality-price ratio is excellent, we don't even discuss about durability, etc., it is very comfortable. The only problem I found is the volume. It can't be heard at all. The only way to hear the alarm is to have it next to your ear, so the five alarms it has are basically useless.
I think it is the most G-SHOCK that exists.. of course the watch is intended for people with large wrists because it is really huge!!!! Now as for the letters, it's not that they are not visible, it's just a matter of getting used to it, of course that's why Casio has provided the lighting system by raising the wrist so that you can see better in a place that doesn't have much light.
So, we have and we say, the watch has one main disadvantage. You need to have hawk eyes to see the time. I hate negative displays ever since I grew up and have 1.5 degrees of presbyopia. I bought it, I saw it, I rated it 4/5 because of the screen, and then I converted it and made it as it should be, a positive display. Now I can see the screen effortlessly. Now it's 5/5. Everything else is amazing, as long as you buy it considering its features/dimensions. I have a wrist size of 22 centimeters and it's perfect.
Because I see that some people who bought it talk about humidity, they should know that when we see a foggy glass on this and many other Casio models, the humidity is only on the glass. To make it clear, the glass is double and both parts are held together by an elastic flange that surrounds them. So if we see humidity, it is not inside the watch. I won't even discuss taking it out to clean and reposition it because the process involves removing crystals from watches and a special adhesive for repositioning to maintain its waterproofness.
Very nice and big, it does everything it promises. A beast of durability, after many G-Shocks and much more expensive ones, I have to say that the King rightfully earned its name. 100% waterproof, tested everywhere, it doesn't understand anything. If you like the appearance, it's worth it and more
4 stars only because it got wet a couple of times, but it dries quickly in a few days.
Good for everyday use, such as oil, grease, dirt, dust, mud, hits, and stones, but not in the bathroom. It's better to wash it quickly with water there, not too persistently.
AM-A-ZING square digital CASIO, I honestly have no words!!!
I have a large wrist at 21 centimeters, so I consciously searched for a long time for something big, since 98% of the other digital watches I try on are microscopic and look like children's watches on my hand (some don't even buckle or buckle in the last-second hole and this watch itself gets lost on my hand), resulting in me not wearing a watch for over 15 years and relying on my phone for the time. I have had some good watches with hands pass through my hands, which had a tolerable size, but for several years now I have concluded that I like/prefer digital Casio watches much more.
The only negative (which is important in my opinion to mention) is the visibility of the negative LCD. In closed spaces when it's night outside, even with lights on in the room, it's difficult to quickly and spontaneously see the time. You have to turn it a little from here, a little from there, so that the screen sits at a specific angle for the indication to be readable. One minus point for this alone.
Otherwise, it is simply wonderful, beautiful, extremely sturdy, very high quality, has the perfect weight, and exudes a sense of a more expensive watch and a fairly high-quality construction! As for the size, on my wrist it "disappears" a bit and looks very normal, but when I take it off and give it to someone else to wear, then both of us realize its size!!
It didn't win the nickname "the KING" for nothing!!!
The monstrous Casio G-Shock GX56BB-1, also known as the G-Shock King due to its size, is definitely a great purchase for those with large wrists who want a rugged watch in a square shape. After all, it is the largest G-Shock available.
I won't comment on the display, as all negative display watches have visibility issues at night. Perhaps this one is more distinguishable due to its size.
On the positive side, it has solar charging (tough solar), which ensures about 6 months of operation with minimal exposure to sunlight.
On the negative side, the plastic strap is quite hard, and for me, it sits either too loose or too tight, depending on how I fasten it.
I believe it's worth the purchase up to €130, after that, there are better options. I would never buy it at full retail price (over €180).
I don't feel it's so sturdy and robust, I've already scratched the main body but thankfully not the glass from the wall, and color has remained in the scratches. The screen doesn't look good when it starts to get dark, and I feel like I can't wear it in every occasion since it's quite thick and black. I think I would ultimately prefer something more stylish, less clumsy. The buttons gave me trouble at first, I would press the protective cover.
Okay, it's a decently expensive digital solar watch and you pay for it, raising the price to 100. If the price drops below 100, I recommend it so you don't feel like you're wasting any money.
If I bought it to "show off" with my sport waterproof watch, I would spend another 150 and get a more distinctive gshock.
The positives, I have a watch that I often forget I'm wearing (although at night I think I can use it as a defensive weapon) or that I need to change the battery, it has the classic alarm stopwatch and it's also water-resistant, which is very important. I don't miss the world time anymore thanks to my phone.
The backlight is okay at night, as long as you get used to the buttons.
Very sturdy and masculine watch, quite bulky and without smart capabilities. It offers the well-known and beloved functions of g-shock watches and charging through solar radiation, which is one of its important advantages. At night, the negative display is not easily readable, but that's why there is also the light button. Personally, I am satisfied
Best purchase I ever made on a watch!
I can't part with it. I don't want to wear any other because they all look small next to it. It already has several hits, without any marks or damage.
Under specific angles, it's not easy to read the time because its dial is negative.
The fact that it's black makes it go with all clothes.
Its illumination at night is very good, mainly illuminating the numbers, I suppose for discretion since it is used by security/military bodies.
