I received it a few days ago. I should say that I already have 2 of the "cheap black" chainsaws of this size - each with its quirks, but I have a good idea of what this one I just bought should do.
First of all, compared to the previous ones: Europe!
Complete with a case and not just thrown in a cardboard box, ready assembled and not just haphazardly with Google translated instructions, complete with a lubricator. Of course, it does not contain oil in the lubricator.
It also has an LED level indicator on the batteries (YAY!).
Another key difference is that you don't need a tool to open its cover, just a common Philips screwdriver for the tensioner.
And the differences don't stop there.
The battery charger is "plug-in" to the batteries (not just a hole for a plug in the battery) and the green-red indicators are on the charger and not on the power supply.
As I mentioned earlier, the batteries have a level indicator with blue LED on them.
Construction-wise, it inspires more confidence - you can feel it in your hand, I can't describe it any other way.
It is safer to use compared to the "cheap black" ones because:
1) it has a full guard in front of the palm
2) it has an outlet for the sawdust (compatible with a vacuum cleaner!)
3) it has a safety operation (2nd button that you must press simultaneously with your thumb along with the trigger)
4) it doesn't start immediately but with a half-second delay. If pressed accidentally, it won't start. If you have small children, this chainsaw is a must for safety. We all know that no matter how well you hide something, they will find it...
In the cutting test I tried (olive branches) it is flawless. At first, I thought it was kicking, but then I realized that unlike the other handheld ones, you rest this on the branch (that's why it has the guard). When you do that, it doesn't kick.
And now the cherry on top:
It is brushless! It doesn't say so in the description, but it is embossed on the motor cover.
You may have noticed that I write in comparison to the "cheap black" handheld chainsaws.
In fact, I bought the other 2 at a higher price than this one! I call them "cheap black" because they are all the same OEM design from (probably) the same manufacturer, with different stickers.
One of the 2 "cheap black" ones fell from 1 meter (from my hand!) and the battery base broke, the other is a death trap because the chain doesn't stop automatically when you release the trigger!
Stay away from the "cheap black" ones.
I recommend this one with my eyes closed. I expected a Chinese product and got a Maserati.
