Did you find this review helpful?It was purchased on March 2, 2021. After about a year, in early spring 2022, the computer started occasionally not recognizing the device as if it was not connected at all. This happened with any USB port. I had already disabled the option for the device to go to sleep if prompted by Windows 10.
I had to constantly turn off and on the device using the power button or unplug and plug in the power cable for the computer to recognize it again. As for the disk, it has no issues.
I don't know if there was any damage to the electronics of the case. At the moment, I cannot test the case elsewhere due to reasons beyond my control.
If you plan on doing automatic backups every day, transferring files of around 400 to 500 GB, the disk overheats and reaches 50°C, especially in the summer at night when you don't have air conditioning.
In other words, if you transfer large files, make sure to find a way to ventilate it at least. Any fan with sufficient airflow blowing towards the case will do.
You could use it without the case, only with the interface in this case.
Check how much it heats up in your own space and choose a method of ventilation or cooling accordingly.

The disk falls into Power save mode when not in use, it also turns on or off with the computer (convenient things for me as I have it connected to a Raspberry Pi with Kodi)

Did you find this review helpful?DISGUSTING, ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. I bought this specific product because it had good reviews. I bought a Toshiba 3TB assuming that this case supports up to 10TB. It freezes when trying to copy files, especially when dealing with 180GB. As soon as I took out the disk and connected it to my PC, it copied 2TB consistently and continuously. I put it back in the case and tried to copy 180GB again, and it froze once more. This particular case is absolutely worthless. I wonder what kind of quality control these companies have for their products. WASTED MONEY

It comes with all the screws + a small screwdriver. The speeds are equivalent to a USB 3.
When you open it from one side, you will be missing 2 screws which you will find inside the bag, and you simply pull the front.
After screwing the disk onto the metal (I used 4 screws for a Red WD 4TB), the case has guides inside on one side that hold the disk securely.
I left it open for over 24 hours while transferring files and watching movies. I found that the temperature was excellent, you could barely notice a small difference with the environment (ambient temperature 21-22 degrees). It remains cool and fresh in everyday use. Installing the hard drive in the case was very easy and it is recommended to screw in a total of 6 screws (screwdriver included).
It has a touch button for power supply (the one with the light shown in the photo).The 4 stars are because as I was inserting the hard drive (drawer-style) by mistake, while pushing the front part with my palm, even though I did it carefully, it seems that it broke at the support with the drawer, resulting in the front piece being slightly loose. Of course, when I finally inserted the hard drive (with double caution), the screws were tightened and I don't have any problem from this damage. Maybe I will face a problem if I ever want to replace this hard drive with another one (unlikely).

In detail:
My previous external hard drive (WD from 2006) stopped recognizing the disk, so I had to put it in a new enclosure. After doing some research, I chose this particular one with the hope of eventually putting a 3.5-inch, 8TB disk on it (it supports up to 10TB). The package is quite small in size (it took 15 days from ordering to receiving it) and includes a 12V power supply, a cable for connecting to the computer, a stand, screws for the internal base of the hard drive, as well as external screws for the casing, and a screwdriver for convenience. It arrived without the internal base being screwed to the casing, so I opened it immediately. The base that holds/connects the hard drive has several screw positions, and I only used two because the disk was not perfectly centered, but it held fine. Internally, it has two channels where the base slides in to attach to the casing. Once properly positioned and attached, the external base has two screw positions on the top and bottom, using the smaller screws included in the package. Now it was time to connect it, and I noticed that the length of the cable is short. The previous power supply for the hard disk (2006) had a cable length of 3 meters, while this one has only 1 meter (probably to save costs). On the front surface, there is a touch sensor for the on-off function of the device, and just below it, the company logo flashes according to the disk's operation. The disk was immediately recognized and did not cause any issues. As for reliability, it will take some time to draw safe conclusions. I used a coupon for the purchase, so the final cost was 18 euros, with an initial price of 23 euros. In conclusion, I would say it is worth considering as a purchase.

Did you find this review helpful?The two black screws that screw the front cover are not on the device in the first opening, but in a separate bag along with the hard drive screws. Since the hard drive is empty at the beginning, they are not needed.
The heads of the magnetic hard drives (hair size) can be damaged if our disk is writing or reading and we shake it. The fact that we can secure our hard drive inside the case with screws makes the case very reliable.
I don't like the provided stand for upright position due to its instability, but we can have our case in a horizontal position without its stand.
I was trying to press the ON/OFF switch hard, but it is touch-sensitive and just needs a touch.
Good and concise user manual in English.
USB 3.0 transfer rate up to 5 Gb/s.
The aluminum case helps with heat dissipation.In the user manual towards the end, it mentions "also check section 3.0 to initialize" while it means "also check section 2.1 to initialize".
