Description

One summer. Two sworn enemies. And a twist they never imagined.

Nora Stephens' life is books.
Having read many, she has concluded that she is in no way the classic heroine found in novels.
She is not unexpectedly brave, nor the girl everyone dreams of having, and she is certainly not sweet, innocent, and romantic.
In fact, the only people who see her as a heroine are her author clients, for whom she closes incredible deals, and her little sister Libby, who is fond of her.

For her sake, she agrees to spend their summer vacation in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina.
Libby has dreams for this trip.
She mainly believes that Nora needs to start behaving a little more carefree… more romantically.
However, instead of picnics in the countryside or chance encounters with some charming country doctor or even a flirtation with the bartender of the local pub, Nora keeps running into Charlie Lastra, a bookish, ambitious, and somewhat eccentric book editor.

At first glance, one would say it is a beautiful coincidence.

Only these two have met many times in the past, without any spark between them.

You see, Nora is not the ideal fictional heroine and Charlie is certainly not the classic hero we encounter in books.
But, as they keep bumping into each other – thanks to a series of random coincidences – they discover that sometimes the image we have of ourselves is nothing more than a well-crafted story.

“Even when you are on the last page of a book and you believe you know everything… the story can find a way to surprise you.”

Honestly, I have nothing I love more than books that talk about books, especially romances that talk about books and book lovers! If you're looking for a sweet, romantic read with deep meanings written for people who love books, then this book will be etched in your heart! And of course, the biggest gem? It takes place in a small town that I love!

Nora is a successful literary agent in New York, loves her job, wears high heels and high fashion. Her past is heavy, but the most important person in her life is her sister. So when her sister suggests they take a vacation together on a trip she really wants, she can't say no. Even if it's in a small town in the middle of nowhere that she just read about in a book. Charlie is a successful book editor in New York, and at some point, he has to collaborate with Nora, who definitely does not like him. What are the chances that the two of them end up in this small town two years after that tragic meeting and have to work together on a manuscript to save the town's little bookstore? Love was certainly not on anyone's list!

It's deep, romantic, heartbreaking to the point where I was crying from the middle onwards permanently, and it left a mark on my heart. I loved the protagonists and the secondary characters so much! As I read it, I could smell the books in the bookstores, the pines in the village, and the brewed coffee in the small café of a small town! Definitely one of my favorite books of the year and in general! If you love books even a little, romances, or the author, you definitely have to read it!
