Purchased for €98 (from the Mr Running website), size 46. I am an amateur runner, with times of 1:37 in the half marathon and 3:29 in the recent Pella Marathon. So far, I have worn out 2 pairs of speed3, but I was looking for something faster, as I find that the speed around 4’30/km is too soft and finishes, so I wanted something more responsive.
If you want a vfm (now around €100-110, its original price was €220) fast shoe to break your record in intervals, you are in the right place. The shoe is for paces below 5’/km, ideally below 4’30/km. Don’t go spending a fortune on more commercial types like Vaporfly. The company also recommends it for long runs, but so far I have only tried it on fast segments (4’00 and below) and short tempos (around 4’30) and I was absolutely satisfied.
It hugs the foot nicely, has a relatively firm feel (remember it’s for intensity, not for recovery or easy runs!!), but has amazing responsiveness. It is also particularly breathable. The only downside is the tongue, which is not stitched, but in the end, it’s not such a big problem.
Update 9/8/2024: I also tried it in a 15-minute tempo at 4'45 and the shoe was excellent. It encouraged me to go even faster. Rightfully deserves the 5 stars!!
