Reviews
I have had them since 2005, so I don't know if there have been any changes in their construction in the following years. Around 2007, one of them burned its power supply as soon as I pressed the switch, probably due to network overload. It was repaired and since then they have been plugged into a surge protector, working perfectly for everyday use. The volumes they can reach are deafening, without noticeable distortions and with rich and effortlessly clear midrange. Their midrange is detailed, ideal for monitoring, but in general, they don't sound "unpleasant" as is the cliché that accompanies speakers of this type. Their dynamics are also remarkable, the high frequencies have very good dispersion, and they are also very good when you need to lower the volume, as they remain quite detailed across the entire frequency range even at whispering volumes.
On the negative side, there is some harshness in the high frequencies around 10k - I lower the area by 1.5db through eq because I sit relatively close to them, but there is a switch on the back that reduces the tweeter's intensity by 2db if needed. Although the bass is sufficient and above average thanks to the 8.5-inch woofer, the tones sound somewhat "homogenized" compared to my hi-fi speakers, where you would better distinguish, for example, the differences between a double bass and another - only that their price is four times higher and still they do not excel in all areas. I would also characterize the performance of reproducing the depth of a recording as moderate. The automatic standby system would be excellent if it actually worked, but instead of turning off the speakers only when they do not receive a signal, it also turns them off at low volumes, and to turn them on again, they need to receive a fairly high intensity, so you disable the automatic shutdown and forget that this feature exists.
Overall, I have heard monitors that, at almost twice the price, had slightly better midrange - but weak bass - or more relaxed highs, but in this price range, I doubt if anyone will find something so satisfactory in so many areas.

Did you find this review helpful?Amazing speakers!! Very powerful, that's why they're called mini pa. Nice bass, disproportionate treble.. you need to reduce them with a crossover. They're not 225 watts as they claim.. they're 140, but it's a quality series from Behringer. They have a safety system to prevent the speaker from getting too stressed if you crank up the volume. Very satisfied with their purchase
