A very nice collaborative variation of the classic Carcassonne (Castles of Mystras). The rules are understandable and offer different levels of difficulty, so that both beginners and advanced players can enjoy it and it doesn't become boring. The scoring follows the rules of the base game for roads and cities, except now the goal is not for one player to collect the most points, but for everyone to collectively gather the necessary points before all the tiles are placed or all the ghosts are placed on the board. It helps develop critical thinking and strategy, as sometimes points may need to be sacrificed to remove ghosts. The tiles and the scoring board are of good quality and have beautiful illustrations, just like in the classic game. One negative aspect is that although it has 6 sets of tokens, it can be played with up to five players, as one token needs to be "sacrificed" to make the marker on the scoring board. However, this can easily be overcome by using something else as a marker. It also comes with a second instruction booklet that explains the rules for combining it with the classic version of the game.
