I haven't played the original version, only the remake on PS5, so I can't judge if it's a faithful remake. What I can say is that it's one of the best survival horror games I've ever played. Its atmosphere, not knowing what's happening or why it's happening, the mystery, and the despair that sometimes grips you since you can't find a way to get through it make this game unique for me. It has a variety of weapons, and the combat is a pleasure. If you find it difficult, you can also change the difficulty to make it easier. Finally, what I really like is that besides the combat, there is also a lot of exploration, side quests, and puzzles. I couldn't ask for more from a game that I got for only 25 euros. It took me about 30 hours to finish it.

To be honest, as a fan of the series from the 90s, I believe that starting from 4 onwards, Resident Evil went downhill. Specifically, 4 and 5 were and still are some of my least favorites. I didn't like the locations, the concept of parasites, the bosses, etc. Therefore, I must note that as a game, I never held it in high regard. Nevertheless, I think that as a remake it was incredibly impressive. An amazing job was done, and the highly successful changes we saw in 2 and 3 continue. Fortunately, the story was enriched a bit more and helped you make a bit more sense of things. The gameplay was fantastic, the graphics very beautiful, and oddly enough, it had a DLC which might be my favorite DLC that I've ever played in a game. I'm talking about Separate Ways, with Ada, which I advise you to get NO MATTER WHAT if you plan to engage with the game itself, as it explains a lot more and stands on equal footing, if not better, with the game itself. Overall, it's a great game objectively, even if I don't consider it Resident Evil.

Despite the fact that 4 represents the franchise's departure from "horror," this does not take away from the 5 stars as it is a complete game in every aspect. Everything works excellently. Puzzles, environment, graphics, action, story—everything. 5 out of 5, an amazing remake just like 2 (I wish they had done 3 in the same style). Let's go for Code Veronica now!

As a person who hasn't been thrilled with any Resident Evil game so far, I can say that this one is exceptional. I've played 7, 8, the remake of 2... I was bored with all of them.

4 has a complete story with a lot of development, many landscapes, great intense battles, fast pace, variety of enemies, variety of weapons, cinematic feel. It has elements from Uncharted, The Last of Us, Dead Space. Top-notch sound and graphics. I would like to be able to replay specific chapters after finishing the game, like having a chapter select option as in many other games.

The Remake of Resident Evil 4 comes with updated next-gen graphics and more fps for those who didn't get involved when it first came out, like myself.

The fact that it is a great game is evident from the first levels of the game that throw you into the deep end (just like Resident Evil 5). The enemy models are varied, highly detailed, and provide plenty of terror. However, sometimes you notice that they repeat. The gameplay is classic Resident Evil and does not disappoint. The atmosphere and sound have a strong horror character and captivate the player.

Those who played the previous RE games and liked them, like myself, will love it. It might even be the best of all the previous ones. I bought it from the play store for about €17 and consider it a gem.

[Update:] Of course, after completing the main game, I bought the Separate Ways DLC because the game is one of the best I have played. The main role in this DLC is played by Ada, who also appears in the main story, assisting Leon. Ada moves through familiar (and some unfamiliar) areas of the Resident Evil 4 map and has her own storyline. She is an interesting character, using similar weapons to Leon (with slight variations), facing different bosses, and having new cutscenes that relate to her own story. Her journey is shorter (8 chapters instead of the main game's 16), but I enjoyed it just as much. I hope a second DLC is released, I would also enjoy that.

Overall, this game is the best. If there was a rating of 10, I would give it that

I have played almost all the Resident Evil games and this one is the best. It has incredible graphics and very nice music. For someone who hasn't played the old ones, they will love the story and the plot, as it is one of the best. I haven't tried the old one, so I don't know if there are any differences in the story, but I believe they haven't made many changes. For me, it is one of the best horror games.

The best game for me out of the remakes that Capcom has done in the RE series. Also, the gold edition will be released on 9/2/2024. I recommend it for those who haven't bought it yet because it includes the DLC with Ada and overall it clears up the landscape and makes the game more complete!

Having played 4 on the PS2 many years ago brought back memories, it's a masterpiece, I won't say anything else.
I will only point out something, as I was playing, incidents would come to mind and I would try to remember how much the storyline had changed, many times I felt like it was coming to an end and I was very sad, a sweet melancholy covered me, it gave me an unprecedented feeling that it takes me "back" and I like the result BUT why doesn't it make me 18 again, like I was when I played it, why do I get annoyed when I close it and when I finish it, it empties me and I say "now what".
Capcom, please discover the elixir of youth.

As a fan of the franchise since the first Resident Evil on PlayStation 1 and Sega Saturn, I have to say that this remake deserves all the praise it has received, surpassing all the previous games and their respective remakes. No matter where you look, this game is a masterpiece. The graphics, gameplay, sound, and story, which this time remained faithful to the original without any cuts, are all outstanding.

Capcom really put a lot of effort into the development of this game, and based on the feedback they received from the previous remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, which were good but not as great as the fourth installment, one can say that they are worth the money.

I played it on PC instead of PS5 because of the even better graphics and performance. However, even on PS5, it has incredible graphics and performance.

If you can find it on sale for around 50-60€, as 80€ is quite a lot considering the current economic situation, I highly recommend it.

This game was made with a lot of passion, which is why it has won awards for being one of the best action horror games. You will definitely enjoy it. Capcom made a strong comeback, and personally, I hope the next remake will be Code Veronica until the release of Resident Evil 9.

The remake is incredible! The graphics are unbelievably good, and the gameplay is very enjoyable. It is quite demanding and challenging, but for Resident Evil fans, that's the point! I just finished it. I hadn't played the old version so I can't compare.
The game is worth every penny.
It does exactly what it was made for. It will put you in the mood and raise your heartbeat. Amazing gameplay (requires a lot of running for dodging), very nice combat and weapon handling, amazing graphics. Very nice story. I don't think it lacks anywhere. Difficult as a game even on the standard level that I finished (there were points with bosses that took me up to 1 hour to pass).
It has many horror scenes and many sudden moments that will disturb you.

Probably the best action game of all time. Better than the original, it plays with your expectations and constantly subverts them. Endless improvements, new enemies and areas, weapons, improved story and gameplay, darker, more emotional. I haven't bought a full price game in years, but it was worth it and then some. My first playthrough on hardcore took me 40 hours, but I'm doing everything and searching like a maniac.

I experienced it intensely during its time, from the first day of its release on the Nintendo GameCube in 2005, as a high school student. Back then, I had dedicated countless hours to this game. It was truly exceptional and addictive. Today, 23 years later, I press new game again to relive that then thrilling experience. But today, I am not a high school student. Today, I am not excited about Shinji Mikami's story and lines. Nor am I excited about roundhouse kicks but karate kids fighting zombies. And yet the game continues to give me the same addictive feeling. I continue to have a great time with it and want to turn on the console to continue my progress. To talk a little about the technical side, I will say that on the ps5 it looks great with the only complaint being the depiction of rain, which for some reason reminds me of ps2. It's not good at all and needs an update. Otherwise, the game is very good and I recommend it.
