This book concerns teaching proposals for Natural Sciences using experiments and experimental procedures with everyday materials. It is aimed at both prospective and active teachers of primary and secondary education. Detailed ways of utilizing experiments for teaching Natural Sciences within the framework (mainly) of inquiry-based teaching are presented. The experiments presented, many of which are original in the way they use everyday materials, cover almost all the thematic units that run through the Natural Sciences curricula of the first two levels of education. There are detailed instructions for conducting the experiment, describing what will be observed upon successful execution of each experiment and how it is interpreted. In many of the described experiments, there are critical observations that have emerged from years of monitoring students, university students, and active teachers in conducting experiments and their common mistakes, for the successful execution of the experiments. Ideas for the educational use of the experiments are provided for the introduction and evaluation of the main concepts of Natural Sciences based on the curricula. Each experiment is accompanied by photos and/or diagrams and, for the majority of the experiments, by corresponding video recordings.
