I chose this specific antenna to install it on my desktop PC, as I had previously experienced significant speed losses with powerline on a 300Mbps line.

As soon as I received the antenna, I connected it to my PC through a USB 3 port, as recommended to fully exploit its capabilities (simple plug & play - Windows automatically detects the drivers, but you can also manually download them from the TP Link website if needed), and I connected to my network.

Note: The antenna supports 5GHz and Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) protocols without any issues. The only suggestion I would make is to split your network into two different frequencies and manually choose which one to connect to.

I say this because, in my case, due to the distance from the router, before splitting the frequencies into two different SSIDs, the antenna would automatically choose to work on the 2.4GHz frequency, as the range is better on that frequency.

To summarize, it is an excellent choice - very good range - stable performance - no disconnections.

I come after about 2 years that I have this disappointing card. It never played correctly.
Nor does the USB cable that comes with it make good contact. With others that do somewhat better, you may be able to download a file of 2-3MB max. Unfortunately, it is not the card you can rely on for streaming, gaming, video conferencing, Windows update, or syncing with OneDrive, and it is expensive!!
If you don't believe me, buy it, and then come back and like me, unless you don't have requirements. Unfortunately, I want the quality to be a PCI express card or cable, otherwise it's rubbish.

  Before the TX20U, I had a d-link dwa-140 quite old and with wifi 4 but it did the job for me, comfortably without any issues. I decided to get a new one and from what I saw on skroutz/reddit/google it is reliable. For gaming, wifi is not the best solution (ethernet is always better) but I didn't have the option. I have no problems so far, very small weird spikes in csgo but generally quite stable with 1% packet loss in cmd, speedtest/fast.com quite good results reaching the max of my line. Good purchase in my opinion.

  This specific card is for anyone who cannot get a pci-e or M.2 network card. If there is an M.2 key slot on your computer, go directly for an intel chip of the same price. Now for this specific one, on the positive side, good range, significantly stronger signal than any I have tried. Negatives:
  1) On every boot of the computer, it disconnects twice in a row. I looked into it and it is due to this specific realtek chip.
  2) If you install the drivers before connecting this card to the pc for the first time, it does not recognize it. You need to connect the card to the pc, it sees it as storage, run the .exe file it contains, and then if you want to install the new drivers.
  3) It is completely unstable at 5Ghz in terms of ping. To resolve this, you need to install the latest drivers, go to device management -> network adapters -> right-click on the specific one -> properties -> power management and disable the option to turn off for energy saving. Then go to the advanced settings and disable the options: Roaming Sensitivity Level and SupportFT 11kv. After changing these settings, the card becomes completely stable with the only concession being that the ping increases by 1ms.
  4) The card, despite supporting the IEEE 802.11ax protocol, has a maximum channel at 5Ghz of 140. Additionally, make sure to have it connected to USB 3.
  In conclusion, after changing the above settings, the card is decent if you find it around 30 euros and cannot go for a pci-e card. I hope I helped someone who faced the same issues as I did. It loses one star because all the issues could have been resolved with a driver update, something that tp-link decided not to do.

  I bought it for a computer that is about 7 meters away from the router and between them there are several walls, wall corners, and furniture.

  Positives: It replaced the TP-Link WN822n, which did its job but had large fluctuations in download speed (the speed would reach 5mbps, suddenly and without reason drop to, for example, 600kbps and then rise again) and an unstable signal. With this, I saw a significant improvement in both download speed and response, the fluctuations disappeared (if it is provided and catches a high download speed, it maintains it) while the connection to the router seems much stronger, which is also evident in the ping of the MMO I play (the ping now consistently ranges from 80-100 while previously it was 110-300 and above with great instability). All of this concerns the 2.4ghz frequency. The 5ghz is not recommended for areas with physical obstacles (walls, furniture, etc.).

  Negatives: During the initial installation, the adapter made continuous connections and disconnections. Every 3-4 seconds. The problem was solved by changing the port and installing the latest driver. Since then, it has not disconnected even once (I acquired it about a month ago). Also, while it initially connected to the 5ghz frequency, when I tried to reconnect, it gives me an error that it cannot connect to this network, while I can connect normally with my mobile. I do not use the 5ghz on the computer but anyway, I do not understand the reason for the problem and I must mention it.

  Update 2/2/2025: I was forced to change my rating from 4 to 2 stars because it has presented a serious problem in my opinion. When downloading a large file for a long time, it gets clogged and disconnects from the internet. It only returns if I repair it through Windows or manually disconnect and reconnect the USB cable, and this until it clogs again. Simply unacceptable. If I had known, I would never have bought it.

  For some reason every time I want to connect to a wifi it disconnects 2-3 times first before connecting. Also the biggest flaw it has is that it doesn't prefer to connect to 5ghz but to 2.4ghz. Unfortunately, my router operates as a wifi ssid that supports both 2.4ghz and 5ghz and always connects to 2.4ghz. The signal is very good and it should connect to 5ghz but nothing. The result of this is that I cannot fully utilize my speed and I only reach a maximum of 60mbps

  I used it very little because it does not catch the mobile hotspot on 5G, which is on channel 160. It supports, if I'm not mistaken, up to 140, but it connected normally to my home WiFi (5G on a lower channel) with a few glitches and disconnections through two walls, but at a close distance.   Average. I expected something better after reading the reviews. Obviously, no one has compared it to another ax adapter. So, on the same laptop, with the same router at the same distance, I present you a screenshot comparing the speed test with the local server. Unfortunately, compared to the laptop's Intel 200ax, it falls behind significantly. The max speed reaches 750mbps while the Intel reaches 990mbps. The ping increases significantly, the maximum speed takes much longer to achieve, and there are noticeable lags (which are significant in gaming). Compared to another ax USB adapter I have, it is slightly better but not by much. Ultimately, if you can, go for the Intel adapter, it has better signal strength, power, and ping. For its price, I would say it's okay. But I was hoping to improve performance, especially at a greater distance (with a wall in between), but it didn't happen. Once again, Intel performs better and faster.

  I have been using it for a week as a replacement for the TP-LINK TL-WN822N v5. Their comparison is chaotic. For example, on a 100 Mbps line, with two intermediate walls, it gets 92 Mbps (5g), while next to the modem it gets 98 Mbps (5g). The speed I had with the previous adapter (2.4g) was up to 50 Mbps.
  No disconnections at all.
  No signal drop whatsoever.
  Highly recommended.

  update: after a year and three months, it suddenly stopped working. It was immediately replaced by the store where I purchased it with a new one due to the 3-year warranty.
