Description

This Variable ND2-ND400 filter from K&F Concept is a 43mm variable neutral density filter that provides adjustable light reduction from 1 to 8.6 stops. It uniformly darkens the entire image, allowing for photography with a larger aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing down the exposure time or increasing the aperture, it is possible to control the depth of field and motion blur easily, creating a dynamic look for streams, waterfalls, landscapes, and more.

This review is about the diameter: 82 mm

It does its job quite well. In the last 2 very dark shades, it shows unevenness in the darkening that resembles a bad vignette.

In the first 4 stops, it's fine, then it starts to darken more intensely around the edges like vignetting. I liked the result in the first stops.

This review is about the diameter: 37 mm

Build quality is great and the glass is high quality, no loss in sharpness of the images. However it does not have hard stops (which I prefer in a VND) and it has a strong color cast and loss of color/contrast making it practically useless under the Greek sun. It also has the dreaded X at max strength. For photography I recommend a series of (magnetic) filters and for video find a higher quality one, maybe with step up rings to save cost.

    For the money, excellent value.
I didn't find any negatives, color distortions not particularly noticeable.

This review is about the diameter: 40.5 mm

I bought the 40.5mm diameter. It is exactly what I wanted, and at a very good price.
