The story takes place in Solistia, a land comprising an eastern and western continent divided by the sea. It is a bustling era, where large ships sail busy sea routes and the power of steam gives rise to new technologies. Some people are moved by the shining stars of the stage and industry, while others are tearful from war, plague, and poverty.
In this distant realm, eight young travelers from different regions embark on their journeys, each for their own reasons. Step into their shoes and explore the world as you like, using their unique talents to aid you in your adventure.

A game that for people who grew up with Final Fantasy 6 and all the RPGs we played, it is a hymn and a nostalgia, a very beautiful game. I didn't have the chance to see the first one, but for this specific one, it is worth every euro. Bravo to Square Enix!
Unbelievable. Much better than the first.
After 80 hours
I can say that it's worth it and more
Having completed the game fully in 85 hours, I can say that most of the problems it had in the first one have been fixed here. Mainly:
The protagonists' stories are quite interesting and engaging. They did a good job in building and presenting them, something that the first one lacked. So if you have played the first one, I believe you will enjoy the second one much more in terms of plot.
The music and pixel artstyle remain the strongest aspects of the game.
Now, as for the combat, it remains more or less the same as in the first Octopath, but they have introduced new mechanics that help build more strategies.
The biggest problem the first one had was the grinding to level up your characters. In Octopath 2, you don't have to worry too much if you are underleveled because it won't bring huge differences. The differences are brought by the items you find in the game.
I highly recommend it to those who have played the first game because it will be a much better experience, as well as to those who enjoy turn-based combat.
