The Pro 2 gives you more ways to play. The custom profile button includes 3 profiles that can be activated on the go. With improved grip, the Pro 2 allows you to hold the controller with even less effort.
The new 4-way Mode Switch button allows you to switch between Switch, macOS, D-input, and X-input, so you can pair with any device as easily as possible.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I use it as a controller for the Switch OLED, very high quality, nice vibration, comfortable, good battery, worth the money.
I didn't expect such quality! Very good, it fits with many devices, even Android. It's a bit heavy, but you get used to it. As for the grip, you get accustomed to it
At €50, it's not worth it for me. The buttons and the D-pad make noise. In terms of connectivity, it keeps disconnecting from gog, which is annoying. I haven't tried it on Steam. It works well on the Switch. In terms of weight, it's good; it gives you a sense of quality and sturdiness. I don't know about durability. Regarding the disconnections, after an update I did, the firmware seemed to be fixed for a while, but ultimately it was a flop. The reason I bought it was to play old games on gog and occasionally on the Switch. It failed at the first. A PS5 controller on sale is a much better choice for me since it has never disconnected.
I don't think you can ask for anything better for a gamepad at this price or even at a higher price. Instant pairing on Windows/Linux/Android, etc., with a simple switch, excellent build quality, and a lithium battery that is easily replaceable, confirming that you will have it for years without issues.
Perhaps the best gamepad on the market! It works for everything and has excellent response and feel in the hands.
Very high-quality product!!! On the same level as Razer, which I also have and see is at this level!!! The only downside is that it doesn't have a USB receiver. So if someone gets it who doesn't have Bluetooth, they will need to get a Bluetooth receiver as well. But it definitely deserves the full 5 stars!!!
Best controller I've layed my hands on since the original dual shocks of the PS1 and PS2 era.
Not too expensive either.
Just don't forget to buy a bluetooth adapter as well since it doesn't come with one. (I suppose that would be my only grievance with it)
I use it for Nintendo Switch, I am very satisfied, both with its battery and how comfortable and fast its buttons are.
Worth the money! Has right amount of weight, not flimsy or super light like usual 3rd party controllers. This actually feels quality made.
Easy to install. We tested it with Android, PC and PS Vita; all functional! You can even set up remote play from PC via Steam and play through your Android phone! Note, that our PCs are laptops with built in bluetooth.
Very poor construction compared to the previous one. It didn't even last two months from the time of purchase and the left lever broke. And of course, no mention of replacement. 50 euros wasted.
UPDATE: They finally accepted the return request, after they checked and confirmed that it was defective, and they refunded me the money.
He immediately saw the Steam Deck with Bluetooth. As for usage, I don't know yet, but it is the only one with so many connectivity options. I also updated the firmware using the application from the 8bitdo website on the PC via USB cable.
It suddenly dies. The switch located at the back does not make good contact and needs to be taped, you can read about this issue on Reddit. It also has a problem with Bluetooth, even after updates. In short, it doesn't work, so stay away.
I was looking to get a wireless controller for my PC and I would have gotten one from Xbox. However, a friend of mine recommended this one. The fact that it charges with USB and doesn't require changing alkaline batteries every so often is the best feature it could have. I haven't noticed any issues with connecting to Windows via a Bluetooth 3 dongle.
Very good controller.
However, I had a problem with the application, which is why I am writing this review. The Ultimate Software app, which is used for mapping and calibrating the buttons, requires the location to be enabled on the mobile device (from the notification bar) in order to connect. When you install the application, it asks for permission for the location, but it doesn't tell you anywhere that you also need to enable it yourself when connecting the controller. I did a lot of searching on the internet until I found it, and I eventually found it by chance. I sent them an email, hoping they will fix it.
One of the best third-party controllers for the Switch (if not the best). If you play a lot of 2D sidescrollers/platformers and generally games that are controlled only with the d-pad, it is the best choice
Nice the first period remote control but in durability it gets 0... It is not possible for a remote control of 50€ for the casing of the joysticks to fall apart in 1.5 years.
Edit: In 3 years both joysticks have worn out completely (all the rubber has come off) and today the device stopped giving any signs of life.
Prefer something else
Now I have it for over 6 months and I really like it. I have played several platformers and I had no problem. The only negative is that when I need to plug in a cable... the one it comes with in the box is short. Just a detail since you can use a longer one, I just mention it. Overall, I am very satisfied and I highly recommend it.
Edit: One year later, the left joystick now sticks to a point where it is no longer functional. I bought another controller from a different brand and this one went into the drawer of retirement
2 stars because connecting it to Bluetooth on Windows 10 is a puzzle!!! AND IT FINALLY WORKS WHEN YOU CONNECT IT AND CLOSE-OPEN THE PC, THEN IT DOESN'T WORK AGAIN, IT'S A PUZZLE AGAIN......
It detects it as 2 Bluetooth devices (one as 8pa and one as 8bitdo controller) and you have to connect 8pa first and then search and connect to 8bitdo controller!
Also, some people on forums say they couldn't connect it, but after I figured it out, I managed to do it!!! (do the same)
First, download the official application and update to the latest firmware!
I don't know if I was lucky to make it work, but it has poor driver support for Windows, many returned it and switched to Xbox X series controller (which has excellent support and controller)
I bought it to play Tekken on my computer after all the good reviews, but it turned out to be garbage. Everyone says its battery lasts a long time, but they don't realize how the company achieved that. It uses a 1000mah battery and has the controller locked at 250hz, resulting in increased latency. For example, the Dualshock 4 has a 2.8ms wireless latency, while the 8bitdo has 23ms wireless and 13.28ms wired latency. Apart from the latency, the DPAD started to loosen from the first week already...
No issue with the controller for using GeForce Now on Mac mini M1. The only complaint is that there is no indication for the remaining battery
Normally, I don't give such high reviews but the controller is a masterpiece, especially the battery life. The only complaint I have is that the grips are smaller and initially it feels uncomfortable, but after a while of use, this disappears
The controller is great overall, both on Windows 10 and on Android mobile devices, as well as on the tested box. 4 stars because nothing is perfect and of course, it needs improvement. Recommended!
Perfect, good quality and also I have it for two months and the battery seems to never run out, very large battery.
Several controllers have passed through my hands but this one is top-notch. It was purchased in a bundle along with a mobile clip, as shown in the photo. The build quality is excellent, and the button response is quick without any input lag. I mainly use it on my Android phone for PS2 games on the AetherSX2 emulator. It's worth noting that there is also an 8bitdo app for control mapping, firmware updates, and macros for the controller. This controller is truly worth every euro.
Very good controller, if the buttons were also silent it would be excellent! But still, a minor flaw! I don't think there is a better controller at this price. Ideal for emulation gaming, and not only. Also, very good quality in the analog sticks, I don't think they will wear out over time!
At first it seemed good to me, but after 2 months the problems started. The DPAD became very loose and the analog sticks started drifting, even though I rarely use them. The battery may seem impressive, but if you look into it, it's because the polling rate is locked at 125hz, resulting in a lot of input lag (28ms). The Dualshock 4 runs constantly at 500hz (3ms) and can be overclocked to 1000hz (0.01ms), resulting in much better input lag.
