Former owner of AirPods 2nd gen, which still work after 3 years of continuous and daily use (office, car, gym, etc.) with the only serious reason for replacement being the decrease in their battery life due to aging.
A week ago, I purchased 2 pairs of AirPods 3rd gen with the charging case via cable. The major difference from the previous model is the spatial sound (meaning the sound comes differently as you turn your head, like being at a concert or theater) and the approximately 2-hour increase in battery life for the headphones.
As for sweat and water resistance, the same probably applied to the previous model when they unfortunately went into the washing machine and continued to work perfectly.
I also noticed a slight (about 5-10%) increase in their power, meaning at maximum volume, I couldn't handle it, while the previous ones played at maximum volume for a long time and I got used to them in crowded and noisy situations, like the gym.
In terms of appearance and stability in the ear, completely subjectively, I consider the previous ones more elegant and stable in my ear. With the new ones, during intense running and some sweating, I had the feeling that they would fall out and I had to push them in, something that I never felt with the previous ones even after running many kilometers!
Last but equally important, the "Find" function (for the case and headphones) has been greatly improved. I have already used it 2-3 times in a week and it worked perfectly. With the 2nd gen, this function had a big issue and only worked if the headphones had been used, essentially storing the last location used (which was very good for their time).
I will come back with more experience or if I encounter any problems.
[Definitely, if you are deciding between buying AirPods 2nd gen and AirPods 3rd gen, choose the AirPods 3rd gen because they are more modern, with a better sound processor that supports Dolby Atmos and "spatial sound" (wonderful), and obviously with a longer battery life!
Apple products are built to last and have resale value for those who are interested, so it's better to spend an extra 30-50€ on a tool that you will have for at least 3 years, rather than choosing the older model. Undoubtedly, whatever you choose will leave you extremely satisfied.]
P.S. I completely forgot to comment on the microphone quality, proximity sensors, and head angle detection... they all work perfectly, crystal clear, and the sensors respond at lightning speed.
The 2nd generation AirPods are a much more cost-effective choice because they are more affordable and do not lack in any way. The 3rd generation, on the other hand, are difficult to use when it comes to putting them in and taking them out of the case, they are bulky and can cause ear pain, they face the same connectivity issues as the 2nd generation, and if they excel in any aspect, it might be in battery life.
After almost a year in my possession, if you have an iPhone it's a must-have, in my opinion better than the pros in terms of application, if you are someone who doesn't like silicone tips then it's a one-way street (now all 4 will be equally good but I think even better)
I give 3 stars as they are perfect headphones in terms of sound, but after 5 months of use, and not daily or for long hours, one earbud, specifically the right one, started to sound much quieter. I did everything I could; I did whatever the app said, I sat down to clean it, I did a factory reset, but in the end, it's the earbuds that are to blame
Very good sound for both music and speech, very good connectivity with any Apple device you have at home.
The biggest downside is that after a while of having them, they started to lose their volume unevenly... one ended up playing at 50% of its original volume and the other at 70%.
They were replaced under warranty and lasted about 6 months before the same issue occurred again... obviously, two stars is a lot for a product that wants to be much more expensive than others that cost 30-40€ and last much longer.
I don't need to say much. They are the best headphones that the market has to offer at this moment. Whether you agree or disagree, what I'm saying is a fact. Now, whether they are worth the money, I won't answer that for you, but rather your own pocket will. If you are looking for the best headphones available, buy them without a second thought.
I used them for maybe 8 hours every day for the last 2-3 years. The sound in the first year was excellent. This is the 2nd time I buy the same product because over time the sound changed completely. It gradually became like headphones of €20 in the last few months. But I have no complaints; they paid for themselves!
I have had these specific headphones for two years. Just before their warranty expired, the right headphone lost its volume. I will try to explain it as best as I can. When I wore them and had them above my waist, I could hear a little while someone sitting next to me could hear at a higher volume than I could. They would tell me how is it possible that you can't hear while we can? And yet I couldn't hear a loud sound as if the sound was coming out of the headphone. I emphasize that this happened to me just before the warranty expired, so I sent the right headphone (store cosmos Thessaloniki) and they replaced it for me. And today, half a year later, the same thing happens to the same headphone that they replaced for me, so I believe that the headphones are generally defective; it is not possible for the headphone of this specific model to have the same damage a second time. Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to talk about any positives they have, whether in the battery or that they fit well in the ears or that they connect directly to the phone. Obviously, all of these are self-evident combined with their price. But the fact that within a year and a half, the same problem has occurred twice is unacceptable, and I will not buy them again or recommend them!
Very nice, beautiful with good sound quality, but they are uncomfortable when worn for a long time; they don't fit that well, especially when it's hot, they slip and fall off easily. Other than that, as headphones, they are very decent
While they have a very nice sound, they do not isolate the surrounding sound at all. I was quite disappointed, especially for the money they cost. I got them because of the Spatial Audio, which is generally amazing, but for the same price, you can find much better headphones. As an application, it’s okay, although they slip quite a bit. Overall, I do not recommend them; I would have been better off spending a little more money and getting the pros, which are truly worth it.
Purchased 6/2023. Initially perfect sound performance. External noise cancellation nonexistent - but conversely, when operating at high volumes, the surroundings can slightly hear what is playing. They are also used during training, without much strain from sweat - but definitely present. By 9/2024, the right one is barely audible, while the left one’s volume has decreased by about 20%.
At the current price of €165, there is no competition. The sound quality is amazing. Coming from the 2nd generation AirPods, I noticed a huge difference. They fit perfectly in my ears, but that's subjective. The battery is incredible and they charge very quickly. I highly recommend them.
Upgrade from the old AirPods, they are wonderful. Very good sound and battery, they have been incredibly convenient for me.
They are good headphones, however a negative is that when taking them out of the case, because they have a different design than a regular headphone, they often slip out of your hands and you don't know where they might fall...

I don't know what you're doing wrong for it to fall out of your ear, just put it in the right angle and it won't fall. I was very skeptical about these headphones but they work perfectly, perfect sound, good microphone and very good quality for everyday and regular use, it's perfect! Very satisfied!! (Also if you're wondering, yes it includes a charging cable like all Apple products)
The authenticity of the product is questionable. As soon as I connected them to my phone, it said the coverage expired with no warranty;;;;;
Problem with automatic sound transfer from smartphone to TV and vice versa. You have to do it manually (with the old red MI buds 5 pro it still happens automatically). Unacceptable for this specific level.
For me, something more reliable than these headphones does not exist on the market. Yes, they slip but find me at least 1 other headphone that will take as many falls as this one has taken and will continue to work tirelessly. Probably doesn't exist. Irreplaceable at least 5/5.
Great headphones. The only thing that concerned me, but definitely couldn't not give 5 stars, is that when you take the headphones out of the charging case, they slip a little but overall everything is ok
Do not make the same mistake as me. Before buying them, try them out from a friend. While their sound is noticeably better than the previous ones, the way they fit in the ear is really terrible. I constantly have the feeling that they will fall out. Really bad product design.

For their money, the worst thing. 2 times with a problem, one the microphone was replaced and now with the volume of the sound. At the same time, with the 1-year warranty in combination with the cost of purchase, stay away and get something else
Impressed with the sound initially. After a few months of use, the left earphone stopped connecting and didn't even appear in the settings (iPhone) where the battery status of the case and both earphones is normally displayed. After many hard resets and cleaning, it connected again, but it has happened to me 2-3 times more. Unacceptable for such an expensive product and without having dropped it or suffered any further damage. Of course, it happened when it was already out of warranty, so I haven't looked into it further. It seems to be a common issue after doing some research on Google. I will probably go back to Sony.
I bought them because I have an iPhone!!! They are excellent. I wish they had a little more bass. Also, you don't feel like you're wearing them and they don't bother you as they are very lightweight. I highly recommend them to users who have an Apple device
Overpriced headphones with terrible support from Apple.
For the second time, after the Airpods2 that broke in the same way, I bought these third-generation ones.
Again, the same thing happened, around one year exactly after the warranty expired, and this time, 5 days before the warranty ended, the same thing: poor connection and different battery percentage in each earbud, even though I took them out of the case at the same time.
This time I was abroad, so I took them to Apple where they told me they noted the problem and I could have them repaired by Christmas. Unfortunately, the employee not only failed to note that I came before the end of the warranty, but in another appointment, I found out that I had to pay an additional 89€ since Apple would only give me one as a gift, as both of them are defective!
Of course, I considered this a big joke and I will throw both of them away, as spending a total of 400€ in two years for such a terrible device and support from the company, in my opinion, is not worth it!
Stay away from these, it's a waste of money!
Very happy with the product! Sound is great, it fits well even though I have got freakishly small ears and the battery life is very very satisfying. It hurts my ears a little when I wear it for long but I haven’t yet found a piece of equipment that doesn’t hurt my ears after a few hours so I don’t mind it really. I use it to run outside and I am super happy with them.
By far the best headphones I have ever used! Amazing sound quality, especially the spatial audio, it's unbelievable! I have to say that I read negative comments about the sound quality, which is obviously not true. It definitely connects well with the iPhone (I assume that the users who made negative comments probably connected them with an Android or listened to a low-quality sound on YouTube). If you want to experience the real quality, try Apple Music, it has better sound than Spotify. (I've had Spotify premium for 3 years, or rather I had it until I realized the difference with Apple Music... it's striking!) I wear the headphones all day, either one or both, they fit comfortably and don't press on the ear. (Of course, this always depends on the shape of your ear, so I would recommend trying them from someone if possible before spending €180.) I've had them for two weeks and I listen to music every day, the battery is quite satisfactory, the case provides about 4 full charges for the headphones, which charge quickly inside the case. In short, you never run out! The connection with the phone is immediate, meaning you can have them in the case without being connected, and when someone calls you, you open the case, put one in your ear, and answer! It's that quick. Absolutely satisfied so far
I had the 2nd Generation until my dog ate one and I decided to switch to these. And I regretted it. They are bulkier than the previous ones, not suitable for long-term use, they don't fit well and they have fallen everywhere, while their microphone is not clear. I could have gotten something much better for much less money.
