Description
The Nikon Nikkor 18-140mm f3.5-5.6G ED VR is a versatile zoom lens with wide-angle and telephoto capabilities. Its zoom magnification, which reaches 7.8x, provides a highly useful range of 18-140mm (27-210mm in DX), covering a wide spectrum of photographic needs. Thus, it can be used as the only lens you carry on an excursion, without the extra weight of multiple lenses.
For greater control over image focus, the lens allows for instant switching to manual focus without the photographer needing to take their eye off the subject. The minimum focusing distance is 45cm, and the maximum aperture of f/3.5 produces a shallow depth of field with pleasant detail blur in out-of-focus areas of the image.
The lens features ED technology that prevents unwanted reflections and ensures excellent color reproduction, as well as VR technology that allows for more stable shots without the use of a tripod or other support. Additional advantages include its durable construction for challenging weather conditions and silent autofocus (SWM).

Reviews
I photographed Mars at 140mm and it rendered its red color. And all this in auto!!!!!! And the ring for manual focus is very user-friendly and easy! Always depending on your camera. The result is skyrocketed on the D7500!!!

Did you find this review helpful?Excellent all around lens from Nikon.
Fast, mostly silent, and in good lighting conditions it makes you look good in every opportunity. It is quite sharp, although it loses a bit on the edges in full zoom. The VR is really good. It struggles in low light conditions, but it doesn't give up. Perfect for amateur use, portrait, landscape, and whatever else is asked of it. The slight vignetting in the corners is not a problem, as many times it is not noticeable and bothersome, and it can easily be removed in any creative program (Lightroom-Photoshop)Translated from Greek ·- Quiet

Did you find this review helpful?Very good lens, the VR is quite noisy but the AF is not at all, it is the first one I buy after the kit lens and it is perfect for everyday use. I appreciate the fact that you can take off or put on the VR manually through the lens and not the camera, as well as being able to switch between AF and MF.

Did you find this review helpful?Good lens for everyday use, a little heavy but not a significant problem, clearer photos than the 18-105 and better build quality.

Did you find this review helpful? The positives: The lens is value for money. For everyday general use, along with a 35mm 1.8G, it's everything you need. It's quite sharp, focuses quickly, and has a convenient range. Good build quality and weighs about half a kilo. At 340 euros, it's one of the best choices. The immediately better option is the 16-80, which is priced at 900 euros.
The negatives: In low light conditions, it takes quite a while to focus. At 18mm with the aperture wide open, clarity is lost in the corners of the photo. You can notice it if you zoom in on the image. Otherwise, it's difficult to distinguish anything.

Did you find this review helpful? The low rating is due to the fact that after 3 years of amateur use (and careful use), the VR broke. I was told by NIKON's service that it was unlucky and rare, etc. Regardless of the cost of repair (which is not worth it...), because they don't have it here in Greece, they ordered it from NIKON EUROPE on 13/7/2017!!! Today, 24/8/2017, they told me it will arrive next week!! Fifty days later! I'm sorry, but we should also consider what happens after the purchase. And NIKON completely failed in this area.

Did you find this review helpful?A very good all-around lens from Nikon.
Those who have bought a camera with the 18-55mm kit lens will definitely see an upgrade in terms of build quality, focal distance, sharpness, VR, etc.
Those who have the 18-105mm lens may not need to make a new purchase as the difference, according to reviews, is very small, except for the additional 35mm zoom.Translated from Greek ·- Quiet

Did you find this review helpful?Much better in image quality and sharpness than the 18-55 kit lens. As a downside, I would mention the weight and the price.

Did you find this review helpful?Excellent lens. The only lens you need to have for general use. The lens is very sharp, in fact, comparing it to various reviews, I find it equally sharp to the highly advertised 18-104 lens, and at the same time, it has an excellent focal range (18-140mm) without losing sharpness even at its limits (140mm). All these make it an ideal choice to replace the 18-55 lens that is usually in the kit, as it will not limit you in any way compared to the 18-55, while also having better sharpness and bokeh.
For me, you get the 18-140mm and a 35mm or 50mm prime lens, and you're all set with lenses as a photography enthusiast.
The only negative aspect is the relatively large weight and size, although personally, I like it.
