Bought this over 1 year ago. Live in Athens so we have not had a lot of very cold weather in that time. Use it as our main heat source in a small apartment because it is more energy efficient than our air conditioners. It heats our 20 sq. meter room pretty well in about 20-30 mins, except when the temperature is relatively low (around 5C). In this case it supplements our air conditioner heat mode well. There is no smell after the first use. Very happy with the product.
As the brochure says, it is for a small space. I have it in a room of about 15 square meters. It heats it up very quickly. I turn it on for 10 minutes on full and then I put it on 4 for maintenance. Very satisfied!
As for the smell of the heater, we left it on the balcony for 1 hour at full power and it smelled great. We bought it for an 18 square meter room in an attic with moderate insulation.
I have to say the following: With an outside temperature of 7 degrees and the room at 16 degrees, I set it to full power at 2500w and in 1 hour and 45 minutes, the thermometer in the room showed 22 degrees. Then I switched it to the second setting (1400w) and set the dial to 2.5. We slept perfectly all night and it maintained a temperature of 22 degrees. It should be noted that a 9,000 BTU air conditioner consumes 900w, so the oil heater is better because it provides quality warmth and also heats the walls. The difference in consumption is very small when it operates on the first setting. I tried it in the living room at 2500w for 50 square meters, but it struggled in that space and took 4 hours to go from 18 degrees to 21.5 degrees. In such a large space, you need to use 2 heaters or assist it with a low setting air conditioner. The only drawback is that it has a short cord and no second handle to carry it, but despite that, it is beautiful and gets the job done for up to 35 square meters
I bought a Delonghi because my previous one lasted 30 years and it's a beast. This one works fine so far, but the smell is unbearable, even though it has been running at full power for over 5 hours, and it makes a popping sound like popcorn until it warms up for about five minutes. That's why I gave it three stars.
I have purchased the product here for 1 month. The 2-3 times it worked, it smelled, and with use, it stopped smelling. It heats up very well in a 20sqm room in about 30 minutes on its high setting. It has good build quality
I bought this oil-filled radiator (€102) and its sibling, the DeLonghi TRRS1225 (€120), both at 2500w. This one has a nicer design, is more compact, and has slightly better heating performance/airflow. The difference is that this one needs to run at maximum for 2-3 hours to get rid of the unpleasant smell, while the TRRS 1225 only needs 15 minutes, according to their instructions. It doesn't smell bad anymore. When it shuts off, there might be a contraction sound, but it's not terribly annoying. I haven't heard anything from the TRRS. Both need to be initially operated at maximum (2500w) for about 1 hour to reach the desired temperature, and then you can lower the intensity to medium (1400w) or minimum (1100w) to maintain the temperature. In my 15 sqm bedroom, I set it to minimum and the dial to 2 or 2.5, and it maintains a temperature of 21 degrees, while in my 35 sqm living room, I run it on medium and the dial on 3 or 4 to maintain a temperature of 19-20 degrees. The thermostat works very well on both radiators. The temperature is maintained in the room even after turning it off for 20 to 30 minutes in a house without insulation. Of course, you need to be careful because anything plugged into the socket consumes electricity. Compared to an Atlantic electric heater with the same wattage, the warmth feels equally pleasant, but the electric heater takes longer to raise the temperature (in my house) and doesn't maintain it when turned off. Both oil-filled radiators are heavy to move, the handle they have is not convenient, and they don't move easily on a carpet. You have to wait for them to cool down before lifting them to another room. 4 stars for the initial smell, the contraction sound, and the difficulty in moving them, 5 stars for the design, heating performance, and build quality for the Dragon.
I am a student in Ioannina and I bought this radiator in order to reduce the use of oil as much as possible. I use it for a 50 sqm space with relatively good insulation. It heats up fully in 15 minutes (the body), I believe the design of the fins works efficiently, I have only noticed slight smells during the first hour of operation after taking it out of the box. Its construction is of good quality and after closing it, it emits heat for up to 20 minutes later. It raises the temperature of the room I am in by 1 degree Celsius every 40 minutes without using any other heating method. I consider it a very good and safe choice for the money, especially for students.
Unfortunately, I was not satisfied at all as it does not do the slightest job in a small 20 sqm room. The oil smell did disappear after the first day of use and the construction is quite good quality. However, in terms of performance, I consider it not worth the money at all and I was disappointed as I expected it to be a strong value-for-money purchase due to the brand. The only time I feel the warmth is if I get very close to the top side with my hand, and I can even touch the radiator easily with my hand despite using it at the maximum setting.
I wonder how someone can give a positive review for something so objective. I am on an island. The temperatures are generally high here. In a 10sqm room with a closed door, it barely maintains the temperature. Yes, if you have it at full power, it's enjoyable. As soon as I took it to the 15sqm living room, my mother lost her child and the child lost their mother. It burns electricity for nothing. At this price, you will get something else, end of story
Unfortunately, no comparison to the delonghi Vento, this is of much lower quality and smells. It almost burned a blush that we accidentally touched on top! Stay away.
Only a few days in my hands and I am impressed by the compact construction, the quality of the materials (strange for made in China) and of course the warmth it emits. Warmth that resembles that of the installed radiators in a house, which you perceive when you enter the space from a colder area and not because the warm air of the air conditioner is blowing on you, for example.
I followed the manufacturer's instructions by operating the device for about 3 hours at maximum, during which there was a somewhat strong smell in the room but nothing terrible. From then on, the radiator does not smell AT ALL.
I use it in a combined kitchen-living room area of about 35 sq.m., for about 4-5 hours every night, at the medium setting. In fact, I turn it off much earlier than other devices I had in the past, as it continues to emit heat for about 20 more minutes.
It is not easily portable due to its weight, but also because it only has one handle to push it and only on its wheels.
P.S: Come on, manufacturer, add a 50-pound longer cable! What does it cost, really...
Apart from the fact that it does not heat up even a 10 square meter bedroom, it smells incredibly burnt oil. It burns your insides and is completely useless after 3-4 years of use, it still smells if you turn it on for 2-3 levels, only on the first level there is no noticeable smell but then you freeze in the harsh cold. I would prefer to be in the cold rather than using it and not being able to breathe
As for performance in heat, it had moderate performance. It needs to be on maximum for a long time and still doesn't manage to heat an 8-square-meter room. The big problem is something else. The radiator never stopped smelling. The authorized service says it's not the oil's fault but that the paint is burning. Even if that's true, it's normal to breathe in paint. The unacceptable representative of the dealership I spoke to says that although the product was still under warranty, towards the end, they don't accept repairs. From now on, I would only consider Delonghi for coffee machines.
When I took it out of the box and saw how small it is, I thought I made a mistake... But when I plugged it in and it started working, I honestly tell you, I still laugh at how they managed to make this little heater produce so much heat. It really does the job and I mean it... First of all, it heats up immediately. I use it in a 50 square meter store with poor insulation, and with this in mind, I can assure you that it is perfect because it changes the atmosphere in the store. I keep it close to me for more immediate results, but after about an hour in the store, the cold is gone and the whole store reaches a satisfactory temperature... And when I say cold, I'm talking about northern Greece.
Also, I have to mention that even though I read comments about an oil smell, I only smelled oil on the first day, during its first use, as the manual suggests. I let it burn for a full 2 hours and since then, it has never emitted an oil smell again.
Now, as for power consumption, I don't know yet, but I expect a relative increase in the electricity bill because it was an emergency solution for me. It's definitely not an inverter, which would be more economical, but it solved my problem immediately during the cold weather, and I am satisfied with the result.
I use it as much as needed to keep the store at a good temperature level, and yet it manages to do it!
It is a very good product....only that the respective seller should inform about the issue of the smell and smoke on the first use....I was not aware of this feature and I returned home from the maternity hospital with my newborn, having informed my own person to have it in operation so that there is the appropriate temperature for the baby...within half an hour, the space smelled and filled with smoke...unpleasant event....
I bought it a year ago from Expert, supposedly they recommended the best one for 85 square meters, but it doesn't even work for 10 square meters. I bought it for 200 euros and it's not worth it, it doesn't produce enough heat. You need to keep it on the highest setting for 3 to 4 hours just to feel some warmth. I still regret spending my money on it
The heater warms well, but the thermostat should be set to medium or the second level. If set higher, the oil overheats, emits smoke, and smells awful. By being cautious about this point, I have no problem with its functionality. However, I consider it dangerous for use by elderly people who do not understand its peculiarity because they may accidentally set it to the maximum and fill their room with smoke to the point where they cannot breathe.
It heats up only one 30 sqm room during the winter weather, and my house has a lot of humidity and it is cold because it does not have good insulation. I have been using it all winter for 5 months now, every night and many times for 2 consecutive days without unplugging it at all. It is sturdy, moving from room to room. In room 2, it heats up the space very well, in room 3, it struggles even if the room is cold, and its warmth remains when you close it, it is not like other heaters that freeze as soon as you close them. I did not see any increase in the bill compared to other winters - I had a different model of Delonghi oil heater that lasted me about 15 years, and then I bought this one - I hope it will be as durable as the previous one. Overall, I am very satisfied!
The best in terms of power consumption and calorie performance, take it without hesitation with closed eyes. Those who mention smell, I didn't notice anything. 100% recommended for purchase!
I was hoping that it would sufficiently heat the room (10 sq.m.) but in order to achieve and maintain a moderate temperature of around 15-17 C when it's 5-7 C outside, you have to run the radiator for many consecutive hours, and to maintain it, you have to be an employee of the power company. Oil radiators and all resistance heating devices are energy-consuming and inefficient in terms of cost. I bought an air conditioner and finally warmed up!
I have it for a few days in a space of about 30 sqm with good insulation in a place that has a lot of cold.
So far it works well without any problems.
The space does warm up, but an oven, etc., as some say, is impossible.
It reaches a maximum of 19 degrees when without it, if I turn it off, the house is at 9 to 11 degrees.
I bought the radiator for my baby's nursery, which is 15 square meters. It really heats up the small space very quickly. I set it to the lowest heating level and it maintains a steady temperature in the room. The smell is non-existent now and it doesn't emit any odor, as I burned it for 5-6 hours at maximum in a storage room to be sure. As for its energy consumption, it is quite low. I recommend it.
I bought the radiator for a small apartment with old windows and poor insulation. Coming from the first dragon of the series, which I have had for about 10 years and it's still working perfectly (completely satisfied), I didn't expect anything different from the new model. It heats up the room quickly and you don't need to turn it up to the highest setting. The lower setting is enough for lower energy consumption. As for the smell that some people mention, personally, neither the first one nor this one has any smell at all! Only when I first bought it, I burned it at full power for about 3 hours, as the manufacturer recommends, and that was it! I consider it the best option for electric heating if you don't have a central heating system. It's well-made and the thermostat measures accurately without constantly burning, maintaining the desired temperature. Of course, it takes some time to start heating up, similar to a radiator that heats up the water before warming the room. It's within normal limits. I have also tested the old one in a larger house with the same efficiency. I highly recommend it without hesitation.
Simply 10/10. It lights up very quickly and the heat is worthy of the 2,500 watts. Of course, it will consume electricity, what do we expect from 2,500 watts? To burn as much as one LED bulb? It is an exaggeration to say that "it smells." It smelled subtly for 4-5 hours until it "burned the oil" and since then, absolutely nothing. A purchase with closed eyes.
I have been satisfied so far, although at first I had doubts about its performance... I am impressed, it heats up a 45sqm space perfectly, even with very poor insulation in the house. It is a real gem in its category. Regarding the smell that I read about, I admit that it did smell for about 3 hours at the beginning, but then it subsided. Also, I haven't received the electricity bill yet.
I have it here for 2 weeks. I am very satisfied. It quickly heats up a 30 sq.m. room.
The truth is that in the first uses, on the third level, it smelled quite a bit. On the second level, it doesn't smell. I left it on for a couple of nights at full power and the smell has significantly decreased. Now it smells very little. I believe it's a matter of time for it to be eliminated completely. Quality construction with beautiful aesthetics. It stands out from the usual. I am thinking of buying another one for my room.
I have had it for 3 years already. It heats well, however - despite the fact that I have turned it on for many hours at maximum on the balcony since the beginning of its purchase - it still smells strongly, irritates our eyes, and causes headaches when turned on with the switch above 2 (with max being 6)!!! It was my mistake for not asking the company for a replacement from the beginning...
Very good construction despite being made in China. The measured consumption is: 1st level 1000W, 2nd level 1400W, and 3rd level 2300W.
The first test was conducted in a 16m2 high-ceiling (4m) space with nonexistent insulation. The temperature went from 13.5 to 21 degrees with an external temperature of 6 degrees within 1 hour of operation on the 3rd level. As for the smell, in the first hour of operation on the 3rd level, it smelled a lot, but then the smell started to decrease, and by the 3rd hour of operation, it didn't smell at all anymore. For those who have an issue with the smell, put it on maximum for 3 hours, and then you won't have a problem. Of course, in my opinion, this should be done by the manufacturing company and not charged to the customer for free. Overall, satisfied with the purchase. I will come back when I use it more.
It is a good choice!!! At 3, it smells a little but I never use it! At 2, it does its job well, I put it at 6 on the thermostat in 15-20 square meters and after 30-40 minutes you can see a big difference in the room. After two years of use, I am satisfied
