Description

Waterproof Cover for solar collector 100x200cm Quality Extreme 150 is made from high-strength PVC in silver color to reflect the sun and avoid overheating of the boiler. It protects from the sun in summer and from frost in winter. It has sewn loops through which you can pass a rope to tie the cover onto the collector.

In case you are away from home for a long period and therefore not using the solar water heater, you need to cover the collectors of your system. If the absence is long and the collector surface is not covered (especially during the summer months), then upon your return, you will need to vent the closed circuit and add thermal fluid. This happens because the accumulated water in the boiler during the summer months reaches a temperature of 80ºC (very close to the boiling point). If you have not neglected the regular maintenance of your solar system, the safety valve (of the boiler) will activate, and a quantity of water will be released to avoid "bursting" of the boiler. If the safety valve does not activate (due to poor or lack of maintenance), the "bursting" of the boiler is inevitable.

In winter, the use of a cover is also deemed necessary in case of low temperatures, hail, and snowfall, especially if your solar system is an open circuit.

The cover construction is sturdy and the tie-down holes are reinforced so that they held down the cover, in-place without cutting through the fabric material for an entire winter season at a beachfront location.     I bought it because I have a large solar water heater and I am basically a single person. I wanted to avoid overheating the solar water heater. I have no complaints, it does its job. I have left a part of it uncovered, and I have covered the rest. I have warm water, not hot, so it reduces the temperature in general. In terms of durability, I have had it for almost six months now, and it doesn't seem to have any wear and tear. I guess it will show more in the summer.
